  1. Vuvkic - by Newcastles valuation - is a sub £500k player.. Oduwa is already looking more of a player than Vuckic. probably more so than Stuart Armstrong too.. and he was bought for 3 times that. If Warbs wants magic feet on a permanent deal, its going to be a 7 figure sum
  2. More power to us that stayed through the dregs... Seeing the contrast in play is phenomenal. If someone had stuck their head in the sand the last 3 years then they wont appreciate it as much.
  3. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3217956/Celtic-s-success-three-years-fake-real-challenge-come-Rangers-return-Premiership.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Celtic fans were loving life but fast forward three years and you can see how much damage has been done to the Hoops, with the only club capable of pushing them or surpassing them dispatched to oblivion. This week as Celtic yet again go on a raid of the sides below them for talent (add Caley Thistle's Ryan Christie to the names of Scott Allan, Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven), they came from behind to beat St Johnstone and go back above Aberdeen and Hearts to the top of the Scottish Premiership. What this all means is that Celtic's policy in recent seasons has been to weaken the rest of the Scottish sides so that there can be no threat to the claim on the title north of the border. The knock-on effect of this is that Celtic are embarrassingly ill-equipped to deal with Champions League qualification games. So Ronny Deila's empty words ahead of the second leg in Malmo, talking up the unbeaten run and the success of his side, came back to haunt him. Celtic were only that good because they stripped Dundee United of the players who might possibly have given the champions a close run for their money And when Celtic take a glance over their shoulder they probably don't see the real threat racing up behind them. Rangers will come into the Scottish Premiership next season with a winning mentality, the ability to score goals (another five away at Queen of the South at the weekend), a manager who knows what he is doing and has the ability to pick at the English transfer market with knowledge and intelligence (James Tavernier is a sensationally good player, and he's not the only one at Rangers), and an unwritten rule that they will not allow their players to be taken by Celtic. Celtic will face a Rangers side with momentum, angry and fired up for revenge for what that club and its fans have been through. These past three seasons have been 'fake', almost worthless, in Scotland. Assuming everything behind the scenes at Ibrox lends itself to manager Mark Warburton being allowed to continue doing his job with no unreasonable restrictions, normal service should be resumed in 2016-17.So get ready Celtic, Rangers are coming to get you!Decent wee article from TalkSports Adrian Durham.
  4. I've seen some of the "big cup" finals over the last few years and its not exactly been stellar football played. Only 2 teams I could see us getting bother from are the Sheep and the mhanks - but at this point both would still seem winnable. I guess we will get a better gauge of our progress after the St Johnstone game
  5. The lad is getting a chance, already looks better under Warburton and if he does not cut the mustard by the end of the season he will be away. To be honest I've every faith in Warburtons decision making at this point. If he thinks there may be a player in Aird then he deserves the time to see if he can get that out of it. After all he sees him day in day out, we see the cameo appearances during games. We've all complained that the club has failed the younger players over the last decade or so and I'm glad that under W&W the squad is being used and there is no one in there that they don't think can do a job when asked. I think it will take a while for us as fans to get used to the fact that we no longer "know better than the manager"..... and that is a massive plus for me!
  6. I watched an old firm with a few mates at the Bieldside Inn. More of a pub grub place than pub drink place. Mind you that was on sky - never watched a BT game there
  7. Its cheaper than letting them be 4th or 5th choice and paying a full season's wages. Pay £200k now and get them off the wage bill or pay £600k over the course of the season. Anyone that thinks the later is the "better option" is probably the kind of person that looks at Wonga or other pay day loans and thinks "...only 1500% APR? BARGIN!"
  8. Wouldn't think so, cam is still injured at the moment.
  9. Look back at young David weir videos.. Some good similarities. If he can emulate that we will have a heck of an asset
  10. Regardless of what league we are in, the positives we can take is that it seems like we have the right people in the right places now. IMO we will need the preperation this year. Even though celtic has reduced drastically in quality in our absence, Aberdeen and Dundee Hibs are better teams than when we left (maybe not the latter since that decent teams has been merged with Celtic). While It will still be a 2 horse race when we are back up, we can't ignore that the rest of the herd are punching closer to the top of the pack than ever before.
  11. To be honest I'd only buy this season if they lost the sponsor. Loved the sponsorless division 3 top and bought a couple which still get worn to 5s or if I go to the beach. Bought the first puma ones but they just didn't fit right and felt so cheap in comparison. Would be tempted this season though but I'm in no hurry and will wait to see how the SD deal develops
  12. To be fair to the players... They didn't manage to turn up during games so why would they turn up after it?
  13. but he is a player that has a good reputation and would likely have a decent sell on value. It would not be unfeasible to accept at least what we pay in the form of a fee back if he didn't work out over the next say 2 seasons.
  14. just need a chance Haris Vučkić to Nogomanio spoke about the exceptional experience in the Scottish giant Rangers and revealed a number of attractions that have accompanied his already seven episode on the island. As you like to say - he went as a boy, he was soon back as a man . Haris Vučkić is native Domžale to leave at the age of 16 years when his peaceful life of adolescents 'washed away' exceptional football talent, for which, as he says himself, his father Phone brnel hundred per hour. Domžale has changed for Newcastle , quickly tasted the burden of top professionalism and found myself on the edge of the lesions dream of every footballer. Today, seven years later, Vučkić is no longer just a big child, but a man who knows what he wants and what its objectives are. In the meantime, he married (in a marital status is already two years - Author's note), physically strengthened, soccer mature and become more immune to all the drops, which are mainly in the form of continuous damage track in the early years of his career. He lives by the principle "what you are destroyed, you stronger" and now the exceptional episode in the cult Scottish Rangers with great optimism look to the future. Keep this in Newcastle , or anywhere else. Episode Glasgow gave him the confidence and knowledge to be able to realize the potential, accompanied by virtually all since the Slovenian public in the winter indoor tournament All Stars first became aware of him. With him we talked in Domžale , which counts down days to return to Newcastle and are more optimistic than ever about to see future challenges. How was enjoying star status in the so beleaguered and big club such as Rangers? The most I was happy because I am still awaited opportunity. I never wanted anything like this to play several matches in a row and show what I can do. I'm sorry, because we have not finished in the top league, but otherwise it was a fantastic experience in Rangers. It's always nice when you play. Even in Newcastle it was nice, but when you do not play, you feel left out. Failing this, they quickly forget. Now I have regained confidence. Was it hard to say goodbye to the Rangers? I really was quite disappointed. Scots are great people and generally have me at the club very well received. I really loved the club. When you step into their room with all the laurels, this takes. Trophies, flags, history ... amazing, really. When my glass is still on the field, I really wanted to remain part of the story. He was present at the beginning of what stage fright? The first was that. A few times I needed, I got a real sense. "Match fitness" and trainings are quite another. Physically I was ready, but the game play is quite another. With the naked self-confidence has grown, even more glad I was, because I have so much to reach Ibroxu. What are the chances to resume a career in Rangers? We'll see. In Newcastle I have a one year contract. If you want to sell, now it is the last option, because over half a year already can talk to other clubs. There is much talk, but about what my future will bring, I know as much as you. In Rangers I proved it with no fans (proudly shows a video in which fans shouted his name - Author's note) and I have to admit that this team feel a little more. How do you take note coach Srecko Katanec to play in other Scottish league does not represent a satisfactory level for calling the selected type? Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. I think it is not so bad. As powerful as it was this year, probably has never been. In any case, I maintain respect. I will fight the best and I hope that I will be back. I must also be realistic and understand that other Scottish league is not as strong as he would have wanted. I had to take a step back so I can go two ahead. In Newcastle I lost my confidence because I was there stabled. Now I have only managed to show what I'm capable of. It is what the Slovenian national team player, to which cultivate a very special respect? I must say that I was very well caught by Bojan Jokic and Valter Birso. Especially with Joko - when I received a call-up Matjaz Kek, I had to be baptized to sing a song. Jokic helped me sing "my brother" and for this I am still grateful to him! (Laughs). It was fun and this event I really stayed in a beautiful memory. Otherwise he gave me some valuable tips Jokic. Abroad have already almost seven years and during that time you had a few more chances in the first team. How have you experienced this year, when your career is not able to develop in the desired direction? I had a really high pitch with injuries. I debuted 17 years ago, but then quickly followed by injury. He is the new coach (Alan Pardew - Author's note), I reached bare in preparation for the US, but he then broke his arm. I slowly "crawling" up to the first team, and then I shook the pitch and all, I began again. I'm not just frustrating, but certainly I was not able to. I always wanted to just to get a little more concrete opportunity to do can show what I can do. Have you told the coaches, why not get a chance? I have to say that any coach did not blame anything and I'm still all in good relations. Most were indirect damage. After returning present a certain fear, but the problem was partly in the fact that I've been in 17 years and trained with the first team. I was like a young lion and fought with players like Fabricio Coloccini example. It is clear that extra running, but so is the probability that something will burst, is even greater. Now, thankfully, these errors do not do more. I'm healthy, I train with dr. Mitja Bračiču and keep fit and can not wait to start preparations. Live in Newcastle, the capital of "Geordijev", which are known for their entertaining lifestyle. I'm not a man for "nightlife", well I do not drink alcohol. By Geordieji but you know ... broadcast Geordie Shore says it all. (Laughs). Sam, I received because I'm married. Newcastle is the place where you go urate all, but I must admit that I am not moved by these things very much. From an early age I decided that I would a professional footballer and I submit to this life. It could also be responsible. Not fine if the paparazzi caught drunk football with hamburger in hand. Finally, we need to be a role model for young people. Do you think that could play in the Premier League? Absolutely! I just lacked the confidence and continuity. I hope the new coach (Steve McClarnu - Author's note) got a chance. I have not even talked to him, but I read that in it all starting from scratch. If I get a chance in Newcastle, great, otherwise I onwards. If you do not play, you quickly forgotten. I 'fajter' soul, but in any case I am not confrontational man and so certainly I'm not looking for conflict with the coach. You have the Premier League any idols? I am very honor Steven Gerrad. I started the match on Anfieldu and stood at the famous tunnel. You stand in a column next to you and Gerrard. My legs were shaking began. You know, I was just inexperienced. He was a true actor with a capital letter. Such would also like to me. It was not the fastest, but he was so intelligent in the game, it is always able to select the right move. What kind of impression are you leaving from celebrities experienced first team Newcastle? On the whole, they were all correct to me. Coloccini me as captain always wondered if I was healthy, if I'm okay and so on. I respect him very much, as I Jonas Gutierrez or Jose Enrique. Many were hung out already because we were just strangers. I also like the example of Paul Dummetta, who once played with me in the academy. He went on loan to St. Mirrnu to Scotland, there established itself and is now a standard member of Newcastle. I would also like to follow this path and awaited his chance. For some time he was your coach the legendary Alan Shearer. Unbelievable how respected he is. I have an interesting story that concerns: once played with us in training and I found myself in duelu. Star I was 17 or 18 years, but I still 'carried away' with both feet. Immediately afterwards I was horrified, saying 'oh, what have I done', but I was immediately reassured Shearer and praised me for this move. All the time I was talking to the football key self-confidence. Many like to emphasize that your family had a great finish to how it evolved your life and your career. It really is. My father went with me to Newcastle and I was immensely helpful. All of us with his brother stood by us and promote the sport. After the service we went to the playground and play everything possible, from basketball, football, volleyball ... Father played basketball in Bosnia and is therefore hoping that we'll go well with his brother along these routes, but I'm past all the time to go into ground and kicking it (laughs). Both parents have a lot of the credit for everything that happened to me in life. Allow me as a youth, though never lived in luxury. I have before my eyes the image that we are instilled by parents. On it are the villas and small kolibica, the two could cemetery. When you die, it does not matter whether you rich or distress. My parents taught me that, and I think this is very important. It was not always easy. As a child I had to listen to zmerljivke relating to my background. I remember that I came home and my father said 'I would like to Slovenian' because we all criticized that I am a Bosnian. No one dealt with why we all moved here, and that this was not an easy decision. You are much weighed between whether to play for Slovenia or Bosnia? I say that I am happy because I have two countries. I'm proud of both. It is this decision that you will in any case someone disappoint. I love coming back to Slovenia, I have a family in Bosnia. However, I was born here and Slovenian football Domžale and gave me everything. From where originates temperament, which is reflected in your game? I've always enjoyed football. Such am also in character. I was never shy. When they where, for example, in some elections, to share cookies, my friends did not dare take even one, and I wanted you two (laughs). Somehow I got it in you. When I get the ball, I know what I'll do with it. When I was in Slovenia, I have always provoked the 'tamale' to take my ball, as they will get ice cream. I do not have it be just to buy a lot (laughs). Is there any criticism that you especially its thorns? Neither does. We did not care when I listen to because of all the injuries I 'glass'. Otherwise, smile often such barbs of people who do not know me and they pity that they do not have anything better to do. But that's how it is, "hejterji" will always be here.
  15. Right as someone who manages to dodge most of the social media aspect if being a bear can I just ask.... Who is Murdo. Genuine question.. I seem to have bypassed this phenomenon in the last few years I've been on here..
  16. No we need to create the big names. We hae the facilities
  17. Seems logical. It's not like we have folk clamouring for the job and it needs to happen now. If we don't get Warburton then it makes sense to crack on with McCall. Imo timing is most important thing now.eeking it out another month could be disastrous
  18. Regardless of what we think of King the facts are there for all to see. 1: We have him and thats the way it will stay. 2: we still need to open our wallets if we want results. You don't need to like either of those points but accepting them is the only way we will get ourselves back on top. It's simple as that really.
  19. Ridiculous thing to gloat over, not just strange
  20. always makes me think... if A.Mcg tuped over... at £100k a month... likewise Naismith and Whittaker who were on similar thats over £250k / m on three players.. how long would it have been before Newco entered Admin? After Bells Faux Pas... I would take Greegs back on £12k / month.. thats basically Boyd and Blacks wage covering that.
  21. So mcgregor wasn't lying when he said his contracts since Rangers was worth substantially less than the 5 year deal he signed at Ibrox...
  22. He was looking for the bears den and ended up at dens park
  23. What about the second hit on the arse then... If it was not intentional there would be no follow up swing from him
