My mistake, I took those statements as reasons for taking the knee and not the part in bold, if you go back to my OP you'll remember that I specifically suggested that the confusion among fans was that all the players took the knee after saying last year that they wouldn't any more as it was an empty gesture, so what has happened in the meantime to change their opinion, I think it's a reasonable question to ask.

If what you say is true then I withdraw my long winded comment, it's just that I haven't seen any statement from club or otherwise that the players would resume taking the knee for the upcoming season, as for you're marxist comment then, no I don't believe our players are closet marxists, Tav just explained why the players are taking the knee but unfortunately they are being drawn in [most likely against their will due to frustration] with a perceived support by many for BLM by adopting their gesture.

i don't for one minute think that our own fans booed our players for opposing racism, nor do I really think you do either, the reason for the booing IMO was, rightly or wrongly, for the perceived support of BLM. Sadly, again IMO, the reason for the captain of the club having to put his name to this letter is the confusion that has come from the players themselves following the reaction of UEFA's ineptitude in dealing with slavia prague when players like Goldson, Tav, Kamara etc informed the world that they would no longer take the knee as it had become in their opinion "a futile gesture" a statement almost everyone agreed with and forthwith became the norm with players not taking the knee before kickoff. Now don't get me wrong I didn't agree with the booing before the Brighton game but I can understand the fans confusion as to why suddenly the all team were now taking the knee at Ibrox, hindsight being a wonderful thing of course, but if the club had maybe put out a statement before all the friendlies saying that after further discussion the players have now reconsidered their stance and would resume taking the knee for the upcoming season then I don't believe that any fans would have booed and it would have avoided the reaction it got. Please don't think for one minute that I'm blaming the club in any way, but as I said above with the benefit of hindsight I believe that unpleasant scene could have been avoided.

Although they've never been used they are still better value than Barkas.
