Btw one of jack, davis, arfield were always going to be offered a new deal, same way some of the “shite” squad players won’t leave, there will not be a cull of everyone fans don’t like, it’s just not going to happen.
i played champ manager back in the day and in one window would change over a whole squad but it does seem like many view it that way and as simplistic as that.
You do need some form of continuity, but if jack or davis or arfield were to stay around the squad whilst others were added i don’t think I’ll get too upset.

They badly need a striker. I go most home games and they have struggled to score this season. They paid £30M for the Italy centre forward but it’s just not working yet.
Ings is a decent quality EPL striker with lots of experience so hopefully can do something to change that

Strikers are at such a premium at the moment, I think that’s the problem. There really aren’t that many elite number 9 types around, especially ones available in January.
 

I do. He plays mostly as an attacking mid/left winger. In Simeones system that means picking up the ball in the middle of the pitch a lot of the time.

He wasnt played as a striker, though. I watch most Atletico games and even Messi would struggle in the role he was playing. The players you mentioned played as strikers for them, more or less. If you werent playing as a striker, then you were nowhere near the goal. The boy is a player.

Hes a great player.. just happens to be playing for the wrong manager and tactics. He will shine in a more attacking team.
