Have a feeling Bellingham might be the first one to deliver and carry them onto a trophy though.
The main difference was back then the opposition were better than England’s golden generation.

Any defence featuring Ralston, Porteous & Hendry is going to struggle against any decent team.
I can’t even blame Clarke too much for that as obviously Hickey & Patterson are injured and we don’t have a single decent CB (Souttar is a similar level to those already mentioned).
You can blame Clarke for not starting Gilmour though.

It was never a lack of leadership that was our problem over the last few years, it was 1. A lack of quality & 2. Signing permanently injured players in the hope we can turn them around

Obviously I’ve never seen the guy play so obviously not saying he’s going to be shite but my biggest concern is 6ft is pretty small for a CB.
Then again we are signing him from Italy a land that produces defenders like Maldini & Cannavaro that weren’t exactly the tallest!

There have been rumours for a few weeks of him going to Saudi, so it’s not a complete shock.
I actually think he’s done a brilliant job of bringing in sponsorship / money etc… not sure how he would’ve worked out leading the football side, I’ll guess we’ll never know.
He’s always been a high flyer type that was unlikely to stick around long term, we absolutely must not go back to some jobs for the boys old Scottish guy that isn’t forward thinking.
