Although I'm not really one for ex players as manager, I do think that Gio V Bronckhorst is a good shout. He played under wee Dick for us, then under Wenger at Arsenal, and won the CL under Rijkaard at Barca, so you would think he picked up some good things from these guys.

The worst 2 managers we've had in the last 40 years have been ex players. Apart from PLG, who didn't get very long, they were JG and ALLY, so I don't think ex players is the way to go.

Whatever you think about Boyd personally we've got to think what is best for Rangers right now if we want to get back to the top. He is still banging in goals in the SPFL, which is 2 leagues above us for now. So to get the top striker in Scottish Football on a free is really good business. And if we dont sign him, someone else is going to get a real bargain.
