  1. The thing is, does that rule not mean that the club whose home ground is unsuitable should foot the bill?
  2. The thing that really boils my blood though is that all the halfwit supporters of other teams who roll around in glee at the fact that "Armageddon" was avoided and claiming "that nobody needs Rangers" and that "everything is much better" whilst cleverly avoiding the fact that the reason "Armageddon" was avoided was because the TV money is still there which was itself only offered if Sky had access to Rangers games.
  3. I heard him on 'Off the Ball' last Saturday. He was giving Tony Roper a hard time about Celtic making up attendance figures, which was amusing. Was Spiers, at one time, supposed to be Rangers friendly?
  4. Do you not think though that if football stays on the trajectory its on there'll just be one big centralised European league and the domestic leagues will have little to no significance. You can already see that happening now. I mean look at the EPL, you've got four/five teams that could realistically win it- I'm not saying they are all odds-on contenders but Arsenal and Liverpool should always have a shout- yet it doesn't seem to matter if your team never wins the league, despite having the ability, as long as you get in the Champs league. Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are the prime examples of this; how can someone manage a team like Arsenal and keep their job regardless of the fact they haven't won anything in 9 years? It's just an upgraded version of what has happened in Scotland over the years. We had all the wee local professional teams fifty to one hundred years ago but now we have ten "big teams" and the rest have no chance of progressing unless they get a massive cash injection. There were some big name teams in Scotland that went into admin for sums that EPL players could cover in a month! It's ridiculous. For years we've got flack from halfwit reporters and supporters of other teams because we spent so much money but we did that because that's the only way to succeed in Europe. It's not like international football where you're stuck with the produce of your home country-you buy in the best you can afford. I don't think there are many leagues in Europe where the best player in the league is actually from that country. The only way to halt things would be to have a universal cap on wages, for example a paltry £1M per year (sarcasm). It's money that makes the whole thing go round and anybody who denies this is being naive or stupid.
  5. My mate and I had been talking about moving seats since January and decided to put in a request the other day after renewing, thinking that this would be our best opportunity to move somewhere decent and get a seat together. But it's got me wondering whether that's bad crack or not. Are we just being opportunistic cnuts or is it fair game?
  6. Sorry to be a dick, but how does Wallace get man of the match if he isn't playing?
  7. I appreciate that someone put a lot of time into that diagram, and the content is probably really straight forward to them, but I stared at that for too long and got a migraine
  8. If so they must be determined to make the Championship the most interesting league in Scotland. A one horse race for the Premiership title and no derbies worth watching versus three ex-Premiership teams fighting for one promotion spot from the Championship and an Edinburgh derby. I know what I'd rather watch.
  9. Well I wouldn't say harassed but he certainly didn't take his second knock back of the day very well
  10. I saw him in the gym this morning. I thought he had a bit of an angry/determined look about him. He got to see me in a simmet though
  11. Aye, I had a wee look at that article on EPL debts and the Chelsea debt is so high it's actually quite impressive Almost £1 Billion debt is scary. Surely, with a debt like that, it's all going to come tumbling down at some point? Even if Abramovic has 7 or 8 Billion he'd need to be helluva generous to write that debt off for them. If something were to happen and the money was ever to be reduced for the EPL I would imagine most of those teams would be in the brown stuff.
  12. The fun really seems to have been taken out of football. What do you think would happen to a player if he took a beer off someone like that nowadays?
  13. Alright guys I don't know if this should be in the boardroom and financial forum but I just thought I'd share this article that I'd received from Legal News Scotland and thought it might quell some concerns. "During the action before Lord Armstrong in the Court of Session, Mr Ahmad, who was seeking the £620,000 in compensation from the club, claimed he was entitled to 5 per cent of commercial contracts negotiated by him subject to written approval from the chief executive or chairman. Lawyers for Mr Ahmad, who left the club in April 2013, pointed to uncertainty over season ticket sales which they had argued created a risk of insolvency. However, Rangers’ QC Alan Summers indicated that even if Rangers’ season-ticket sales slump, other funds were available to avoid the prospect of the club going into administration. But Mr Summers maintained that the source of revenue had not been “materially impacted” by events of the last few weeks. Deloitte has warned a possible fans’ boycott of season tickets could jeopardise the club’s ability to keep trading, after Rangers International Football Club plc (RIFC) reported losses of £3.5 million in the six months to December 31. Lord Armstrong (pictured) said: “I appreciate that there is some scope for concern as to the financial future of the defenders.” But he added that, on the basis of the information that had been put before him: "It cannot be said there is a real possibility of the defender being insolvent [in early 2015 when any potential liability would fall due"; Lord Armstrong said he was informed institutional investors had "a good degree of confidence" in the management and were fully aware of difficulties. "It is in effect confirmation that the defender is financially secure and will remain so for the foreseeable future" he added." If a top judge is satisfied that the club won't be insolvent by 2015 I think that's a pretty good argument against some of the mud that's being slung at the board currently.
  14. Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times over but is it true that if you have previously paid for your ticket in 4 instalments you can continue to do so this year? I thought that option had been removed and we all had to use Zebra. EDIT: Forget the above, I've just had a good look at the email I got sent from Rangers and it explains things pretty well.
  15. I hope this is just nonsense. If McCoist's also talking about signing Boyd too, what was the point in taking Nicky Clarke from QotS then never playing him?
  16. I just typed "McCoist signs Miller" into google to see what the chat was and the Rhebel was boldly stating that Miller has signed for us. Is this actually true or more BS from a rhag?
  17. Exactly. For goodness sake, he's doing the decent thing and letting these guys get their final game at Ibrox and people still have something to moan about. All of this negativity that's surrounding the club seems to be infesting throughout the support.
  18. As someone said above, the reason they went after us so enthusiastically was because it was a big name case but also because, I believe, there were a load of other institutions doing the same thing, or similar, as us with the EBT's so if they nailed us they'd have a precedent for getting everyone else.
  19. Really? That'll take a lot of beating. Makes one season seem like a long time
  20. Aye that's what I remember. It's been about 8 years since I last bought a football top so it comes as a surprise to me now that they get changed every year. Seems a bit cheeky especially if you have a couple of kids wanting full kits.
  21. I have to say, I agree with these comments. He's obviously a wee tool, there's no argument against that, but to have the police come to your door for something like this is a bit far. A good kicking from some young Rangers supporters would be a far more fitting punishment.
  22. I am, mate. I've honestly not bought a football top in years, due to the above reasons, and thought that they still lasted for 2 seasons. Now I feel old and kinda stupid
  23. So does this mean they are bringing out new kits next season? What a load of bollocks. I don't play football anymore and don't walk around the streets with football tops on so I only really wear my top to the games. I ended up buying both home and away tops this season thinking I'd at least get a couple of seasons out of them. Not cool, man
  24. Man, that would have been absolutely brilliant! Although it would also make our current woes with players even more hard to take. Imagine watching highlights of past Rangers games going from Laudrup to Ronaldo in Europe to Daly in the Ramsdens?
  25. I'm guessing you mean Portuguese Ronaldo, but does anybody remember when we allegedly put a bid in for the original Ronaldo? I was just young and can't remember if that actually happened or not.
