CELTIC’S match with Rangers this Saturday, May 9, 2009 has been postponed as a mark of respect for Darren Fletcher. Celtic made a formal request for the postponement following the tragic sending off of the Manchester United midfielder and Celtic fan in the Champions League semi-final 2nd leg at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night. SPL Company Secretary Iain Blair said: “These are never easy decisions but we recognise that, as a boyhood supporter, Fletcher was part of Celtic’s extended football family. “After consultation with Rangers, we agreed to postpone the Old Firm fixture on the 9th of May.” Speaking earlier today, Celtic Captain Stephen McManus said: “Having met this evening as a group for the first time since Darren's sending off, the Celtic team, management and backroom staff feel very strongly that our match on Saturday should be postponed as a mark of our sincere respect for Darren Fletcher, a great player and a great man. “A number of our squad have very close connections to Darren, having played with him for Scotland and feel it would be inappropriate to proceed with this match at such a time, following such a tragic event. “We understand sincerely the inconvenience and frustration a postponement would cause supporters of both teams, particularly those who travel long distances to games - and we fully respect the views of all fans on this matter. “However, we feel that this would be the only correct decision. I hope that supporters would understand our position in such circumstances." Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has reacted angrily to claims this is being done to ensure Scott Brown can play in the Old Firm match. The Scottish PFA player of the year was due to serve the 2nd match of a two game ban, and will now miss the visit of Dundee Utd to Celtic Park next Tuesday night.

I was at a sportsman dinner a few months ago. It was supposed to be Donald Findlay, Hugh Burns and Jim liieshman, sadly Jim could not make it, his wife was really ill. Mark Hately filled in for him. Instead of the usual stories and anicdotes he done a Q&A for about an hour. He said that there were 2 centre halfs that were nearly ready for the first team, oddly he thought that they may be sold because there was a group of youngsters comming threw that were much better and they may overtake the 2 that were nearly ready. He was very very optamistic on the kids that were comming threw. Does anybody watch the kids play on a regular basis?

The game that Murray banned the tims from. 1-1 at Ibrox. Collins scored fae a free kick, Miko scored a deflection. When Collins scored a few tims jumped up, as they were getting the shit punched out of them the stewards pulled them out. By the time they were being walked out along the track, they had a police escort. A few bears decided to help them out with there bus fare home...

For me anything is better than staying in SPL. I accept that it would take time to settle in, and that it could go pear shaped, but for me its worth the risk.

I spent one night in Clellend, erm, stayed at my then mates grans house in, erm, well Chapel street!! Says it all really. I was in New steventson on friday night. Speakers night with Mark Hately, Hugh Burns and Donald Findlay. Hately done a Q&A for about an hour, Hugh went threw his time as a footballer and Donald done his stand up routine. A good night was had by all. the night ended in a sing song, Frank Sinatra songs...

Mate I would phone the ticket office as I got my ticket weeks ago- if you have a smartcard (or whatever they are called) it will be allocated to that.
