To be fair to Little I don't think he specially says Ally deserves credit if we go up. He seems to be mainly saying he deserved credit for holding everything together, which he did for a period of time. Like the way he still refers to us as we and us.

I was born in 84' and I'd say my knowledge of Rangers' players from around the late 80's till' now is pretty strong although I sometimes get confused with exact years of when they played for us. I used to not only go to 1st team games but I went to a lot of reserve games when they were at Ibrox, and used to see the the likes of Spencer, Hagen, Robertson, Scott etc. Then you had the Rangers Gold and the whole VHS collection up until 9IAR etc, you had Rangers News and even now you can do quizzes on Sporcle and the like to further test your knowledge. Going further back than my DOB I know a lot of names, and the more well known ones more so than others but I find it a bit more difficult trying to put names to some older faces. I think it's mainly an age thing but my dad passed away when I was around 15 so I've not really had the constant, continual reminiscent old Rangers' stories for the past 15 years or so with the elder generation so I think that can be a factor too. Also, the internet and social media has changed the game. It is difficult to find out many facts the further back in time you look whereas now I could probably tell you what Kyle Hutton ate for dinner last night, what Barrie McKay is wearing and what Fraser Aird thinks about reality TV! When I think about I do feel a bit guilty about not knowing as much as I should for those who have played an instrumental and key part in our history. However, for those where there is a lack of information on, there is every chance we had a few duds so I suppose it works both ways!

To add to the rumours he's in Glasgow just now and has been tweeting and retweeting a lot in reference to us. Also, I noticed a few weeks/months back he seemed to be spending some time with Simeone/Atletico and others. Maybe picking up some tips in preparation for his next job......

Just like all the tims players and many other players get touted for £20million/£30million when in reality they go for a fraction of the inflated paper chat nonsense........IMO Hull would get nowhere near that. Also I just threw him in as one example. We don't even need a left back! The point still remains the same though. You ask Hull for a ballpark figure of what they are looking for. They give a crazy figure, then you simply walk away. And many players have clauses in their contracts that reduce their transfer fee if they are relegated. It costs nothing to ask the question. You might just get lucky.....

I agree with this philosophy and outlook. I'm of the opinion that if you don't ask you don't get. We may very well get knocked back 99% of the time but we should, at the very least inquire, and ask the question of players regardless of what level they are at, and regardless of what their wages may or may not be, within reason of course. If we don't at least ask the question we're not doing our job properly. I'm not talking the Hazard's of this world, or even the Austin's and Ings' of this world, but players at the level of Aluko and Robertson at Hull; Arfield, Vokes, Jutkiewicz, Barnes at Burnley etc . We're still Rangers, we're still a massive club and we still have a pull for some players. They might, just might be willing to take a pay cut, play for us, win some trophies, play in Europe, and then, if they so wish, move on, we make a wee profit, everyone is happy!
