  1. Thigh strain is more than a knock. Alexander won't be risked on Saturday, so why the hell does he remain in the squad? It's not serious enough to merit withdrawing and Langfield is a bombscare.
  2. emm no its not is At Scotland games do they not play The Flower Of Scotland ... And Wales, N.Ireland and England play GSTQ? I'm not sure, cause i fuckin' hate international football (anguish) At sporting events i.e. football and rugby union, Scotland uses Flower of Scotland and Wales uses Land of Our Fathers. Though the only official national anthem is GSTQ. Personally i'd rather hear Flower of Scotland, but it's not either/or and both have their place.
  3. McCulloch retired from international football not long after Burley became manager.
  4. If you mean at the top level then yes the league structure badly needs revised, 2 x leagues of 16 with 3 up, 3 down and regional leagues below that. At grass roots level, then though facilities have improved dramatically in the last 5 years, especially in Glasgow, but the benefits won't be felt for years to come. I'm only 23 but i remember at primary school and boy club level being stuck playing on full size red ash pitches with broken glass and stones everywhere that were nowhere near appropriate, then at secondary school we didn't even have a school team till i was in 6th year and that was one of the bigger schools in Glasgow. They should follow the Dutch route and encourage kids to play on smaller, better quality pitches and work on close control, technique, ball skills and control. There's too much emphasis placed on hoofing the ball up front and kicking the shit out of the opposing team in Scottish football, even at youth level.
  5. Nugent away to Burnley as well, i know he's rubbish but it leaves them with bugger all options. They are well and truly fucked. They signed 13 players, thats hardly nobody! http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer...0_11674,00.html Nearly all of them foriegn loanees or championship players unproven at this level. Piquionne, Utaka, Dindane, Tommy Smith and Kanu (on a month to month deal) will struggle badly to score 20 between them.
  6. Nugent away to Burnley as well, i know he's rubbish but it leaves them with bugger all options. They are well and truly fucked.
  7. Scotland stick him in central midfield and expect him to dominate the game as a playmaker spraying passes, beating players and scoring. He simply isn't that kind of player, should make the most of what he's good at and play him as a holding midfielder instead of trying to use shite like Alexander, Hartley and Caldwell in that role. He's not world class, but he is a very very good player who fully deserves starting most games for Man United. United fans are going overboard raving about him now cause the retards spent the last 4 years deriding him because he's Scottish.
  8. I agree with the likes of Weir and to a lesser extent Callum Davidson being called up just now, but after this campaign it's time to drop them and actually give younger players, that can learn and improve, the caps and experience they need. Especially instead of calling up guys like Jamie McCallister, Kyle, Steven Caldwell, McEveley who are of no better quality than the younger players and who have barely played in years. 23 man squad: Goalkeepers: Gordon, Alexander, Marshall Defenders: Hutton, Whittaker, McManus, G Caldwell, Berra, Naysmith, Wallace Midfielders: Fletcher, Commons, McCormack, Thomson, Brown, Arfield, Maloney Strikers: Boyd, McFadden, Miller, S Fletcher, Naismith, Riordan Leaves others like Charlie Mulgrew, David Clarkson, James Morrison, George Boyd, Lee Miller, Kirk Broadfoot, Jamie Easton, Andy Webster, the 2 McDonalds from Burnley, Barr (who has been in squads has not progressed with Falkirk in the last year), etc all as other options. Edit: also Fletcher plays as a defensive type midfielder and does it well for Man United, he is not a playmaker and Scotland have to stop just sticking him in the middle and expect him to dominate a game just cause he plays for Man United.
  9. Watson should've been out plum lbw twice in single figures tbf.
  10. Broad Australia 89-3 with Ponting out for 1 and Mr Cock/Cricket out for a duck. COME ON ENGLAND!
  11. Pollock averaged 600-800 for home games last season, that's a higher gate than nearly all the teams in the 2nd and 3rd divisions in the SFL, while the likes of Irvine Meadow, Auchinleck Talbot, etc can all afford higher fees and wages than even some first division teams. Even a couple of the smaller teams are run better, Spartans in the East Region and Petershill in Glasgow both have excellent new grounds with modern facilities for players and fans alike and can generate alot ot income for the club through hiring them out for 5's.
  12. It's a personal choice how closely he observes it, went to a school that was 30-40% asian and many people would drink water or have a quick something to eat if it was warm/they felt faint etc.
  13. Don't really wear them apart from lounging about the house or playing 5's, never had any bother.
  14. Not as bad as Blackburn, few years after they won the league they had the chance to sign Zidane but the chairman decided against it saying "Who needs Zidane when you have Tim Sherwood". Lancashire nutters
  15. They played each other in the championship a few years ago and nothing happened.
  16. In cricket only, hope they get fucked in everything else.
  17. Nope, i go to alot of Scotland games and used to work at Hampden, you hear people moaning about "Bloody useless f****n/h**/sheep/arab/jambo/hibee cunt" all the time, it's just that as Old Firm players tend to make up about half the team so some terms are heard more than others. The Northern Irish game was horrendous, a good 1/5th of the Scottish crowd there that night was only there to join in with the N Irish fans/boo and try to wind them up, they couldn't give a fuck about Scotland at all. I saw at least 6 people in my small section alone chucked out for trying to cause bother one way or the other. Edit - For some reason the reply was added to this thread instead of the other.
  18. It's Ramprakash's home ground and he's on form domestically, but he's 39, hasn't played for England in 7 years, collapses under pressure and his test average is 27. Key's on a bit of form for Kent has still been in England squads recently, has Ashes experience and a decent record against the Australians. While i really do prefer Bopara to Bell as a batsman, Bell has no mental strength as seen by his constant failure to turn starts into big scores, but Bopara is horrendously out of sink just now. I'd rest him for the final test, Key in at 3, Bell at 4 and just hope Collingwood finally shows some staying power. It's not great but there aren't many options. Broad bowled comparably better at Headingly because he was bowling on a consistent line and length, he needs to do that more often and realise he isn't Flintoff and he's never going to be able to consistently bang in short balls at 90+mph.
  19. He won't play Whittaker at left back, it will be Davidson or McAllister.
  20. The one position that doesn't need strengthened is central midfield.
