True, but the abysmal reputation of the SPL is going to harm any prospective transfer fee's. While I agree with the arguments by others that we should get around £10million for him based on comparisons with other keepers, in reality I cant see an offer coming in near that amount.

Despite Andy already admitting he was on a fishing trip with this comment, he does have a bit of a point with it. That isn't trying to detract from the performance as he still had a lot to do to make the save, but it does highlight that he is one of the best in the world when it comes to positional sense the fact he was always in the right place.

I'd welcome it but think there isn't chance in hell it will happen. Only thing in our favour is at the moment he's just as likely to win a major tournament with Scotland as he is with England as both teams are shite right now. It says his family are from Campbeltown, does that mean both his parents or just distant relatives? I know my cousin was born in Bolton, but since both his parents are from up here he'd probably have picked Scotland if he wasn't a wee pansy who was useless at football!!! Good thing is with them being from Campbeltown, if one parent is Scottish the other is likely to be as well as they're probably brother and sister.

Thats actually a good point, there are good players that have a style that doesn't work with certain teams formation/tactics/mentality/etc. Look at Diego Forlan, most of us would have probably thought he was a bit of a donkey, average at best during his time at Manchester United. Since leaving, he's shown he can play a bit!

For the people naming Messi, I really hope they misunderstood the question and thought it was top players who are over-hyped! In that respect I'd agree, he isn't as good as a lot would have you believe(i.e the greatest player of all-time) but is still one of the best in the world just now if not the best. Most of the "top" players I dont rate play in the EPL and are only classed as top players because the whole league is believed to be better than it actually is in this country. Berbatov (not that I dont actually rate him when on form, just he only ever seems to show about 20% of his potential over the course of a season) Mascherano Barry Carrick Milner Gerrard(been found out a bit now that Alonso has left) John Carew (though a bit of stretch to call him a top player, but gets onto the list for being especially dire) Walcott Glen Johnson Rosicky Could go on all day, but getting bored now.

Now Martin O'Neil's left, I have no valid reason for still hating Villa(or hating them before he came). I do have a reason for hating Arsenal but its 100% inaccurate so dont know if that counts. I always associate them with boring football from the George Graham days. Only team I have absolutely no basis for my dislike of is West Ham.

Nethercraigs is just as bad!!!! Agree with others though that rather than have it removed for something else, it should be updated to a good standard. Kids teams will be in awe playing right in the shadow of Ibrox, especially if it gets a top quality surface.

If I had to give a definitive answer, I'd have to say Ashley Cole unfortunately. Reason, lots of contenders already mentioned here for centre back e.g Lucio, Puyol, Pique, etc. At right back its a three way battle between Maicon, Lahm and Ramos. The only defensive position I'd know who to pick straight away if I was asked to name a world select XI is Cole at left back.

Remember when I worked as a lifeguard in the states we were told during training that black swimmers are a high-risk of getting into difficulties and to be extra vigilant when they were in the water. I've no real interest in becoming a mod and definitely don't merit it. However as Bkay's expressed an interest I'd like to throw my name in the hat purely because it lessens his chances if the winner is randomly selected!
