Finally refreshing the team which imo was long over due then going back for a player who's had his time is not the way I see it.

We can't refresh the team with every player that gets injured, sometimes we need a cheap short term solution which a Balogun type signing is.

The problem with Balogun is he's injury prone. He played 13 games last season and our record of keeping players fit isn't exactly great.

That was in a team he was expected to play week in week out, with us he would be basically cover and we have other players like Lundstram that could cover.

I'm all for replacing Davies with a suitable replacement, if we get Balogun back to replace the young boy then there some cunt not doing their job properly imo, he's old news, we need to move on and that's a step back for me.

How do you come to that conclusion?? Leon King would be 4th choice this season at best, now he's out we need to bring someone in on a low budget while he recovers and Balogun would fit that perfectly. I agree we need to upgrade Davies ASAP.

Whatever way we spin in we are going into the new season with a rookie manager who got outthought by Barry Robson, beat in two cups, and won one game in five against them since coming here.

I'm hoping they appoint a complete dumpling if not it's going to be another hard season as Beale's training on the job.

Beale had an average of 2.43 points per game last season, if he continues with that this season we will 100% win the league. There's no chance they appoint another manager who goes on a run like he did.

I think in all the games you criticised him for, you could see there was progress and possibly with his own players we get even stronger. If we don't improve then I'll accept your "told you so".

I genuinely think that would be worse, that it'd been allowed to happen.

Depends on how bad the injury is and whether the player wants to try.

I'm sure it was mentioned  3 or 4 days after our game with St mirren that he had an injury. He's been kept back to train with our physio to see if he can get fit.

I'd rather he just said no and relaxed at the side of a pool somewhere tbh.

Would it be an overreaction though?

Guy with horrendous injury record gets injured again, while on international duty.

Fuck knows what the injury is, but if he battles through it for Steve Clarke for 2 games, does it carry over into preseason?

He was already injured before he got called up apparently, but Scotland still wanted him to travel to see if he could get fit.

  7. Tbh not sure why some don't like this, he was thought of highly before he left to try management himself and done well. For whatever reason he hasn't taken another job and could end up back at us is a good thing. The type of character we need managing the B team I guess, he will demand a winning mentality and forces his teams to play out from the back.

    Is he fuck.

He's 32 years old and has been a first-choice keeper one season out of 13.

Butland is 3 years younger than him but has played double the number of games.

On average, he's played 9 league games a year his entire career ffs.

    Robles is better

Being the english number 1 one at the time wasnt difficult, and still isnt, their keepers have been honking for years

And hart was miles past his best when he came up here, he still coasted it

Answers my point really since Butland couldn't get a game.

Hart played 34 games in 4 years before signing for the tarriers and has coasted it up here

Butland (for the right wages) with a decent team in front of him should coast it as well

Hart was an England no1 something Butland couldn't achieve even when Hart was making a cunt of it. I'll await more details of the deal but I'm certainly not happy about it.

Joel Robles is a better keeper imo and he is going on a free.

  11. If the Butland signing is true then it's a terrible signing imo especially at they rumoured wages.

He had a disaster when stoke got relegated and you only need to see what clubs he was loaned out to after that to tell you how good he was, Birmingham, Barnsley, Leeds, Derby. Even when he signed for Crystal Palace he was terrible and could get a game over Wayne Hennessey who is pish as well.

Those comparing Hart to him is silly as Hart was a much better keeper of which Butland got nowhere near that standard. Hope I'm proved wrong but doubt it.

The first season he'd just came from league 2 into the championship. It's really not odd that he wasn't a regular starter. He still played in 42 games, so he's not injured.

The stats do not show reduced availablity. That's just daft.

Eh the stats do show reduced availability, 1st season he was involved in 42 games, then 36 and then 32. He may also have been on the bench due to niggles.

Tbh I can't believe you are arguing over a Leeds fan saying he was injury prone for him to come to us and be injury prone.

  13. 11 hours ago, Roy Hobbs said:

He averaged 37 games a season in the championship.

They stats don't tell the truth, he started 28 out of a possible 46 in his 1st season with Leeds coming off the bench 14 times averaging 59 mins per game.

2nd season he started 27 games of a possible 46 coming off the bench 9 times averaging 67 mins per game.

3rd season he started 27 games of a possible 46 coming off the bench 5 times averaging 76 mins per game.

The stats do show a reduced amount of availability for whatever reason which maybe backs up what @Number5 is saying.

  14. He's as fragile as a stack of poppadoms which is infuriating coz he's definitely good enough when fit. At this stage he'll be here until his contract runs out coz nobody will offer us anything for him.

In reference to your first paragraph mate, please don't compare Sakala to Tillman. I don't care what the stats say.

But yes, Sakala is a good bench option as you say.

I'll compare all I want, it's ridiculous the hate Sakala gets for someone that contributes as much as he does. Typically the same people who said Kent wasn't producing enough are the ones who are saying get rid of Sakala, the players can't win on here.

Sakala is a great squad player and someone we should keep unless a bid of decent value is submitted.

One’s a 26 year old with years of experience and playing as a striker/winger, one’s a 20 year old playing his first season of professional football.

I'm aware of that, 1 player folk are desperate to get rid of even if he is contributing a decent amount and the other folk are happy to spend £5 million on a player who may or may not become any better.
