Not interested in any european journeymen who have no knowledge of the league or magnitude of the expectations they'll be working under. They might be the right fit at their moderately successful clubs in provincial European leagues but it doesn't mean they'll get us winning trophies and at least competitive with that horrible lot in the league. Muscat coat-tailing Postecoglu is not going to cut it either.
My preference is a top name, an A list manager who has proven success even if it comes at a cost. If we can't then I'd rather take McCoist back or McInnes who at least know what the Rangers identity is all about before any of the names being banded about.
Wtf

I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. They lost Maeda and Iwata to them, the rest of the Japanese players came from other clubs. Looking through Transfermarkt I'm struggling to see any other players leaving for bigger clubs in the last few seasons, one biggish transfer to NYC FC - I may be wrong mind you.
It's hard to class what is a bigger club considering we don't know how highly anyone rates Yokohama f marinos. What is evident is he seems to go through a large haul of players and still keeps them challenging with a different team each season.

For as much hate as Lundstram gets I like him. He may not be the quality we need going forward but he's honest and tries his best.

If the club do go down the route of looking at rookie managers then Kieran Mckenna should be on the shortlist. He's done an unreal job with Ipswich and was on the coaching staff under Mourinho at Man Utd.

Never seen Davis raise his voice on the pitch and is friendly with all of the players , no chance hes going to be the manager long.
First thing he should do is drop Goldson and Tavernier.
The answer to this is already in the 1st part of your reply unfortunately.

See right now I couldn’t even care about style of play.
We have had a shocking start to the season and right now we have to focus on getting back in to the habit of winning regularly before we start worrying about how many vertical passes we play before we score.
If we don't score, we won't win...........on the flip side if we don't concede, we won't lose.

I don’t think that’s how you can judge what kind of manager a player would make because they’ve played under what you’d describe as negative or defensive coaches.
steve davis was a cultured central midfielder he wasn’t a negative player.
plus he will be in charge two or theee games tops
That's true, my worry would be how much of an impression has any of these managers left on his thoughts on he'd like to set up.
I think it depends on how results go will depend how long he gets. I don't think he will be kept permanently as manager but if results pick up I don't think the board will act as quickly as they would if the results are still spiralling.
-
My biggest concern is that the list of managers that have coached Davis have been mainly negative defensive managers:
O'Leary, O'neil(soap dodgers), Hodgson, Walter, McCoist, Pochettino, Koeman, Puel, Pellegrini, Hughes, O'neil(international) Baraclough.
Don't get me wrong there have been a couple of tactically very good managers as well.

Time for the fans to not be in the stands on Thursday if thats the case
So they pay to go to Cyprus and then not go to the game?

I suspect this clueless fucker will still be here to see us lose on Thursday and draw/lose on Sunday. It’s fuckin depressing
That's what worries me, if we lose away to a shite Cypriot team the board need chased out as well.

Wish we had the money available but Lopetegui would be the type of manager I'd hope we appoint next where they are experienced and managed at a good level.
Before I get abuse I know he wouldn't come to Scotland and would have better offers available, but I was using him as an example of what type of manager I think we need.

Intentionally didn't reply yesterday as I wanted to calm down but I feel just as disappointed, angry, sad and confused about the whole thing.
We could see after the 2 games(Psv, them) that the board needed to make a change or the season will be over quickly. They have persevered and the season is pretty much over. This can't go on, this is not acceptable and yes he's not been helped with injuries but the biggest problem was the signings in the 1st place, easily 1 of the worst transfer windows ever.
A new manager would still have something to play for in Europe and the 2 cups if they were appointed soon. Get a manager in before the international break and then that gives a manager 2 weeks to work with the players. The next appointment needs to be correct and the scouting of players needs to be much better.

I'd bite yer hand off for the following in our next 6 tbh.
Sheep home - Win
Aris away - Draw
St Mirren away - Win
Hibs home - Win
Sparta away - Draw
Hearts home- Win
I'd be disappointed with a draw away to Aris, Cypriot league is piss poor imo.

Best performance yet for us. He has attributes that are effective but his ball control and passing can be terrible.
Continue last night's form we'll be happy.

Look at the potential deals on our doorstep that we turned our nose up at.
Doig.
Ferguson.
Shankland. (not perfect but much, much better than Dessers)
Max Johnston from Motherwell.
Hickey being talked about as a potential £50m transfer to one of the big clubs - just let that sink in - £50m.
Even that guy at left back for Motherwell on Sunday. 19 year old on loan from Huddersfield, Northern Ireland international. Better than Barisic and Yilmaz combined.
We’re walking past bargains to go and piss up fortunes.
I’m not actually convinced that we have any scouting network at all.
Porteous, Dykes and Allan Campbell has done well.
I think porteous looks a certainty to go to a top club.
