Bit early to be crowing about that! Let’s wait and see if he continues his form and bags the chances he will need to in tighter games.

But for now he’s playing well, as is the whole team

Same way it was a bit early for folk to be writing the season off coz we didn't bring in another striker.

The fact we won something already should have been enough for people to be patient.

Wouldn't be RM if folk weren't going OTT

  2. We should be trying our best to keep him, he's been unreal for a while now. I know we have sterling but we need a squad and sterling can be used in a variety of areas.

It's a no brainier for me, get him signed on a 3 year deal. Get rid of the other guf.

Didn’t comment on whether random players with average seasons for other clubs would make it here. You inferred that.

I said scoring for us is easier than other spl clubs (all else equal). Nouble would score more than the 0 league goals he has for Livi if he played a season for us. But he wouldn’t make it here.

Imo Miovski and Shankland have played at a higher level than Dessers this season. (I wouldn’t be after Shankland in Summer fwiw now).

Dodds had a significantly better strike rate for us than Utd. Maybe Dundee when they won the first division?

The lower league examples aren’t relevant to us (although Daly had a much better strike rate).

I just gave you examples of where that is not always the case, you gave examples of the successful players and I'm merely pointing out that there is others which proves differently.

Dodds 1st stint at Dundee utd he had a better scoring rate 27 goals in 55 games and at us 34 in 84 games.

The main difference which even Boyd found out is that when you play for us we expect an all round game as goals will not save them from criticism and that's where some of these signings struggle.

Boyd was slated at times as he struggled in Europe and against them, most recently Colak was criticised but had a decent record.

Surely folk aren’t claiming it’s easier to score for Hearts or the Sheep than us?

Almost every striker who moves to the OF scores significantly more. Boyd, Griffiths, McDonald, Miller etc etc

We create more chances each game.

Miovski and Shankland are having better seasons than Dessers.

Sandaza had a better strike rate at St Johnstone and failed, Nicky Clark had a better strike rate at Queen of the south and failed and Billy dodds had a better strike rate at Dundee utd compared to his stint with us.

There was also ciftci who had a better strike rate at Dundee utd and failed at them as well.

Could have had Lafferty, Jon daly, Alan Gow as well.

Fwiw I think Miovski is a great player and would excel with us.

Confused as didn’t see the game but read BBC report praising his performance and seeing he got MOTM yet he’s getting comments slating his performance here. Seems like a wild disparity! He can’t have played that badly surely. He’s only just in the door and already has an assist in his first start.

Where are these comments??? Only players getting slated is Matondo and Raskin, everyone said he played well and showing signs of a good player.

Anyone know if I bought something in megastore today can I return it in another shop? I picked up a M but need a L. Wondering if I could swap in the Ayr store or even the Castore outlet in Livingston?

If you bought it from the megastore you will be able to return it to any Rangers store, you will not be able to go to castore with it. That would be like buying a shit pair of nikes from sports direct and trying to return it to the Nike store 😆

If Cantwell doesn't buckle up his act, he will be on the outside looking in. He isn't getting ahead of Lundstram, Sterling and presumably Dio in the midfield. And IMO, when Lawrence finds a consistent rhythm, he is a more natural, attacking goal threat in the #10.

The same applies to Raskin because Jack (who is also competing) was noticeably better than Raskin when he came on.

Competition should bring out the best in all of them.

Is that even a saying? Is it not clean up his act???

We’ve been trying to get Davies and Wright pff the wage bill for a year now but them Dessers, Lammers and Cifuentes are contracted so far more difficult to get rid.

Age catches up with every player and once Lundstrams legs go he doesn’t have the ability of say a Steven Davis to modify his game like he did.

He's only just turning 30 so has easily another 2 years in him before his legs will start to go.

Agree with @STEPPS BOY. I wouldn't give him a new contract.

We need every bit of his wage to buy a midfielder that can put their foot on the ball and control a game's tempo in the middle of the park. We are absolutely desperate for it.

Get rid of Raskin then as he is hopeless, apart from a stint when he 1st moved here, he has been garbage.

    Like who?

What players do we have on 30k a week who are looking at a new multi year deal on same or maybe even improved terms up to wages like Tav, Butland and Goldson.

Never said anyone earning the same but getting guys like Roofe, Davies, Jack, Cifuentes, Matondo, Wright, Lammers and arguably Dessers off the wage bill would be more beneficial than someone who is playing a major role under the new manager.

We would then start to build a squad round these important experienced players.

If it’s 3 million on a young player that we could maybe flip or at worst get money back then it’s better than paying a 30yr old 30k a week for 3 years.

Tav,Goldson and Lundstram take away over 5 million a year from Rangers at moment and we’re likely never to get a single monetary return from any of them.

We might not get a monetary return on them but if they contribute to us possibly qualifying for the Champions league or extended runs in Europe then it's justified.

At the moment Lundstram is pivotal to the way we play under PC and if he thinks we should be trying to keep him then I'll trust that.

There's other players we should be saving money on, at this moment in time it's not Lundstram.
