Instead we gave him around 3 wage rises whilst basically pricing him out of a move.
This is his 5th season now in the SPL and we can only hope Gio can use his man management to tell him he needs to play for a move this season.
Otherwise we just have an overpaid unhappy forward on our hands for the next 18 months. Unhappy is maybe not accurate when you are getting 25-30k per week, shopping in cruise and spending a few nights a week in Sanctuary.

I agree mate but see end of day it’s not like he’s getting starved of service, he missed 3 today one guilt edged, kent gets dogs abuse and he’s our best forward by a mile it’s time we stopped giving him a constant pass.

He’s out of sorts but we need to stick with him.
The run of bad games isn’t him being “out of sorts” I only care about Rangers and would be happy him to prove me wrong but it’s not going to happen IMO. He’s been dreadful for a long time now and I don’t see it improving.

Problem is every time it happens no one else steps up to the mark. Last time Roofe and Sakala led the line v Prague we were fuckin toothless. Happened numerous times over the last few years where Lafferty, Defoe, Roofe, Itten etc have been asked to step up and haven’t.
Like it or not he’s our best striker by a mile.
He isn’t, but your right no one has stood up when he’s been dropped but the adulation for him from our fans is nowhere near warranted! Roofe is better than him but has been brutal this season as well.
It’s painful watching him finishing. -

Go back 3/4 years and he was dynamic, great at holding the ball up and rolling defenders before barging himself towards goal.
Now he’s 30yards from goal, never in the box when the ball is played in and constantly playing flicks backwards
Now when we look at the team this season we are struggling to score and finish teams off…. No wonder when our strikers play like midfielders and the majority of our midfielders are defensively minded.

Agree with this, feel like ball gets away from him a lot at times but hopefully can tidy that up.

The 2 centre backs were the 2 worst players on the park today, not sure how replacing a player who conceded 3 first half goals today in the spl playing for Rangers merits questioning.
