RIP Ronnie. Loved watching you play and one of my favourite ever CBs.
Condolences to all friends and family.

Brilliant. My first Scottish cup final win over the Mhanks. Almost made up for being at the 1969 and 1971 defeats. Happy days.

who remembers the boys gate bottom right ? you can just see the turnstiles.there were 2 boys gates for the whole ground and it was a nightmare some days
Fantastic pic which brings back great memories. Walking up to that magnificent Copland Terracing as a kid in the 60's. Hearing the noise from the crowd and climbing the stairway with that sense of anticipation. Unbeatable atmosphere with 70-80,000 inside for the big games.

I think this is the League cup sectional game from August 1973. Do you know if it is ?
Could well be, was at the game but +60 memory not that good. However checking the excellent Bears 1872 DB the players all match - Willie wan fit, Tam F, Wee Doddy and Big Peter. Mhanks also match - Johnstone, McGlaughlin and Lennox.

What could go wrong? It was a perfect day up till then, I can remember sitting proudly in the Copland Stand for the first time as we opened it that day. Then we manage to lose 2 goals in the last 6-7 minutes and the Mhanks draw 2-2.

G.A.T.J. is spot on. Worst feeling ever at the Mhank Dome.
After that we beat Thistle 1-0 at Ibrox, beat Hivs 3-2 in SCF at Hampden (after 2 replays) then lost to Hivs 1-2 at Easter Road. We played 61 games that season - way more than the Mhanks. Still gutted that the Greatest Ever Ranger did not manage a championship winning team.

Cheers anyway but it I is the league cup goal from 1969 I'm looking for.
Sorry, lost the thread. Will check the series of The Rangers Journey Through the 60's videos on YouTube. For sure Wee Buds goal is in one of the videos (there are 4 in total).
