Colak just announced he's got a new agent on Instagram. Felt like a strong possibility he'd move on this summer anyway but this maybe indicates it's even more likely. 

Hard to get less value from £7M than a left-back who never plays and a CB who's not even an upgrade on Balogun. Maybe we'll manage it this summer. 

There isn't a commercial director alive who wouldn't have brought that opportunity to their bosses to discuss. 

If you look back to before he came in we where making peanuts from the commercial side compared to what we should have. So anyone decent coming in would have increased it. Was/Is he the best person for commercial side - No as he signed us up for quite a few turkeys which has devalued the brand just to bring in a wee bit more revenue. Is he the worst - nope as has increased it by over 10M but some of that might be down to 55 and more shirt etc sales.
However in what way is he qualified for the CEO role which is a mixture of diplomacy, making sure all the departments talk to each other, knowing when to force sales through whilst maximising revenue from them, managing the playing budget, being the public face of Rangers amongst many other things I have no idea about. It seems a lazy ill though out appointment.

I genuinely cannot believe the amount of our own fanbase who are trying to suggest James Bisgrove becoming our CEO is a good thing.

I'm trying to be optimistic by focusing on the salary space that's opening us this summer. Morelos and Kent are paid like star players but their output hasn't been anywhere near that in 2022/3. We'll have an opportunity to hand comparable wages to players who might actually earn them from June. Same goes for Helander - I imagine he's mid-to-upper in our salary structure and it's not going to be hard to get an upgrade because anyone who's occasionally - ever - fit for selection adds more than him just now. Similar for Roofe the following summer. If we can sell some combination of Davies, Barasic, Kamara, McLoughlin, and Lundstram, that's more money to play with. Plus whatever's freed up by the departures from Arfield, Davis, Jack, and McGregor.

We're not getting value from a lot of the squad so I'm seeing the chance to cut ties and reinvest as a big positive.

I think it's really positive he's making the effort to meet the players before they sign. Cantwell and Raskin have integrated into the squad really well and appear to have the attitude required of Rangers players so there are signs it's worth the effort. Also good to hear we're not wasting time on these deals. Hopefully plenty of news in early June. 

Agents aren't daft. If we brought someone in, they'd have negotiated a multi-year contract, which means a bit of our salary budget for strikers is already allocated on someone we didn't really want. Any striker that would've accepted a six-month deal would've been below the required standard. Either that or we could have redirected money from elsewhere - which could have meant missing out on a long-term targets who're key to our future plans like Raskin and Cantwell. The reality is, we've got limited resources, and filling short-term needs would have had a negative impact on our medium/long term plans. 

That's a fair point but, as hard as it is to take for any Rangers fan, sometimes it's worth short-term pain to put you on a better standing going forward. Again, not ideal, but part of the reason we're in this situation is because we're lumbered with paying wages for players who don't contribute enough and that means we can't afford quality replacements. Like I said, we could've plugged a short-term gap, but the chances are that would mean committing a salary to a sub-par player for 2-4 seasons. The next time you want to add quality, the £ you've wasted on that dross might get in the way.
