*****Official Rangers v Sparta Match Thread*****

This. I have virtually no faith that this group of players are going to up the gears enough to win the game, never mind by 2 goals. Hope I’m wrong but the evidence now seems to suggest they’re shitebags -

Kamara almost made me launch the tv on Sunday. Took far too many touches, was nowhere near ambitious/progressive enough with his passing and absolutely shat it (as he nearly always does) when actually in a great position to take a shot. He offers nothing as an 8 and even for a 6, he’s too safe with his passing. Some games he’s the master of controlled possession, many game he’s just frustrating. -

YAAASSSS!!! Thank fuck for that, might actually get some work done tomorro Or, maybes not… -
Given the form of a number of players at the moment, it’s just gotten even more difficult to realise the kind of amounts we should’ve in player sales. Where previously we could’ve gotten £10-£12m for Borna, £15m+ for Alfie, £8-10m for Goldson, those have gone up in smoke. Yeah, it’s still realistic to get good money for Kent, Kamara and Hagi, the value of lots of players will undoubtedly have dropped considerably now. And selling Kent or Kamara doesn’t bear thinking about. We’ve already come to regret not selling an Alfie or Borna, sadly.

For me, we showed them too much respect and just weren’t at it for chunks of the game. By and large, we just don’t put teams under anywhere enough pressure. Should’ve beaten them comfortably. -

This is such a ‘Rangers this season’ performance. Lose a shite, avoidable goal with loads of possession but doing fuck all with it -
Great result that for us today. Hate to say it, and I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t have much faith in the players turning up and turning it on tomorrow. If that was their idea of going out and winning it for Walter on Wednesday, then we have a lot to worry about. Like I say, I really hope I’m wrong, but all I can see is more turgid, passive shite from this team tomorrow. Hope SG/Beale make the necessary changes, too.

Spot on mate, thanks 👍 I have a RTV subscription but it wasn’t showing up. That’s sorted it though. -

Is this on RTV? I can’t find it to buy on the Rangers website -
Totally gutted.

Did he come off injured? Strange decision to sub a CB with just a few mins to go.

Have to say, I know they’re absolutely pish at the back, but I really don’t see where all this confidence for Sunday has much foundation. We’ve been largely devoid of any intensity, energy or real desire to win the fight and take the game to opponents. On top of that, the organisation in the team is nowhere near last season’s levels while our sharpness in front of goal, and the final ball or final decision, have been largely woeful in most games. I’ll be delighted if the team ram these concerns down my throat but, despite how pish they are, we still look miles off being clinical, sharp or as fit as last year. -
Looking at him and reading between the lines of his comments, I think Gerrard’s looking worried and sounds a bit stumped. The same kind of pre-Covid comments have been made over the past couple of weeks about it now being player’s responsibility but, like then as well, too many keep letting him/us down, aren’t turning up and don’t seem up for the fight. It’s absolutely ridiculous/shameful that all the momentum we built up from last season almost seems to have evaporated.

This probably isn’t a popular opinion, but my gut already tells me that we do have a real problem this season. There’s something really not right about us so far and we’ve looked pretty lacking in ideas, disjointed and powderpuff since the start of preseason. There’s a strong whiff of players receding back into their 2019/early 2020 shells. Hope I’m wrong, but the body language and confidence from almost the whole team is shite. -
We were losing that with or without the wee man. He can hold his head fairly high but the likes of Tav, Borna, Goldson, Balogun, Arfield, Lundstram, Kent, Wright, Aribo and even Gerrard and the coaching team with their team selections, need to take a long, hard look at themselves. Currently, it looks like we’re imploding and heading towards some kind of free fall if we’re not careful. Shocking attitudes from too many. Shambles
