*****The Official Scum v Rangers Match Thread*****
Ladytonbear replied to Craiggybear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I would suggest a win on Saturday would makes us favourites to retain the Scottish Cup. A massive confidence boost for the team going into the semi. -
Welcome Back to Rangers, Michael Beale!

As the previous poster said, that midfield cost the less than £2m - that’s what annoys me about the can’t compete financially statement -

This is exactly where I am - was never my first choice, but when he was appointed he got my total backing. I saw improvements and actually liked his pressers- thought he was saying exactly what I wanted to hear from our manager - particularly around standards. His presser today fucked me right off for some reason. We laughed at the state of the fat Greek at the joint presser, and for all his talk about suits and brogues, Beale turning up today at the biggest game of his managerial career wearing an Flange style jumper and not bothering to shave has annoyed me far more than trivial pish like that should. His talk about only signing starters and then not starting them has also annoyed me beyond reason. He said the 9 point gap was not on him- which is absolutely true, but in his post match presser he talks about last years cup win as if he had actually won it - he can’t have it both ways. When he became our manager, my expectations were not great. I thought the league was already done, and two cup wins would be difficult. I said at the time the minimum we needed was one cup and to beat them in the league. I will stand by that until the end of the season- failure in either of those basic expectations should result in us parting company. -

****The official Rangers v the tarriers thread****
Ladytonbear replied to wully's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
As gutted as I am, we were the better team today. Hear people saying they were not at their best, but I think we nullified them and didn’t let them play to their best. They were mince when they were chasing the game, struggled to link any passes under pressure, and on another day we would have pumped them. I was not in the least optimistic going into this game, but I think we controlled this game far better than many were expecting. Definitely feels like a loss, but there were positives to take forward. -
I sat beside him and his brother in the BA lounge at Glasgow airport a couple of months ago. Both of them brand new- genuinely couldn’t have been nicer to people asking them for selfies etc.

Maybe a minutes silence for the 66 at the start of the game, and some sort of montage to Pele at half time? -

Ifs and buts, but if that was the case, I think GVB would still be our manager. If they play the Japanese player at RB against us, I think Kent, on his game, is capable destroying him. -
Minimum expectations for this season
Ladytonbear replied to RoboBearToo's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
What we want and what the minimum we can expect are obviously different. Everyone wants the treble, but given where MB is starting from, I think it would be incredibly unfair to judge him on not winning the league this year. My very bare minimum is beating them twice at Ibrox. Do that and not only will it rattle them, it will also close the gap at the very least. Of course we want to win every competition we are in so I want two cups, but again, think it would be unfair to harshly judge MB if he wins one on top of two OF wins. If he gets backing in January and the summer, next season will be make or break for him imo. -
celtic Face 25 actions regarding Historic Abuse

Mibbes if their results start to take a down turn they will ask for the next OF to be postponed for the funeral -
Long throws appear to be out of fashion, but I think it would be good to at least have the option. At one time, a long throw in the final third was as good as a corner- although corners have not been much use to us either in recent times

Does an FAI for a 76 year old suggest the death was not from natural causes, or is that standard for someone who dies in custody? -

Very interesting and worth watching- think that is the first time I have actually really understood the player trading model, and the difference between them and us. Because they have been selling players for decent money for some years, they are benefiting from a number of instalments coming in each year for different players they have sold. We have just started so in reality only have the first years instalments available and that money also has to be used for running the club- electricity, infrastructure, wages etc, as well as the instalments due on players we have bought over the last three years or so. That is what he says can’t be paid on IOU’s ( not buying players) but if we can continue to sell well in the coming years, then the cash available- ie more than one instalment at a time- obviously gets better each year.

Agreed the cost of the funeral is not £100m if you limit it to the service and committal. However Op Unicorn, Op (London)Bridge and Op Springtide - all related to the death of her Majesty and the transition of the Crown - spanned 12 days, with significant policing dedicated to each day
-
In terms of police hours, it is was half of what was used for COP26- Google the policing costs for COP26 and you will see Police Scotland responded to an FOI that put the cost at £251m
-
Anyone who thinks the funeral cost £8m is seriously deluded. Policing costs alone were over £100m

The operation, which has been planned and rehearsed for many years, requires exactly half the police resources that COP 26 did. -

Think that is the only way we will ensure a minutes silence from Them -
I think the fat Aussie has established a style of play and has been able to recruit players who suit that. I am honestly not sure if Gio has a clear style, and it appears he is taking what he gets in terms of signings and tries to make them fit.

At half time I expected a change of tactics- playing out from the back clearly wasn’t working, but we continued to persevere until it cost us the fuck up with the last goal. That passing back and forward in front of the box just gives me the fear, and surely GVB must have seen that second half was time to start punting it up to their half and at least trying to get in their faces -
I have no intention on rewatching that game, but I thought he never looked like scoring, and actually looked uncomfortable on the ball at times. So unlike him.

Tarriers actually cheering when Morelos came on today. Was so hoping he was going to shut them to fuck up, but never looked up to it from the start
