Look at the other options, McCulloch is not a defender and there is no way in hell Danny Wilson should make his Rangers debut against Sevilla in the CL

I know but you have to ask why was Webster sent out on loan when he finally got fit?????

2 or 3 seasons i reckon. cuellar bailed him out 2 years back and last season maybe kaunas was a blessing for him

I totally agree with you on that one. We needed to get a CH in during the summer and they missed it i think that will cost us

We chose to go into the champions league with a 40 year old as captain and first choice centre half up against 20 million pound strikers. Numerous threads from pre-season onwards showed how worried the fans were with Weirs position in the side, but what do we know eh...

He has been caught out big time on a few occasions this season already. There are a few CH that are free agents we need to bring in someone that can come in and do the business for us

It would be unfair to blame Weir for being old, and he's done more than most to disguise quite how shite we really are. But as has been said above, everybody can see a lack of cover for him ever since he joined the club.

David Weir didn't put a foot wrong in the first half. Easy to start faulting him when we were chasing the game at 2 - 0. As for whittaker, he should never have to be in the position to out jump Fabiano in the air. He has no chance of winning that battle. Papac was no better yet everyone slates whittaker.

Very true. And is anybody at the club thinking about next season? If we don't hang on to Bougherra, we'll have a brand new central defence to find. Surely talented youngsters like Wilson have to be given confidence and a chance.

its also the fact that the team is set up to protect davie in these matches. we defend so deep so his lack of pace is not found out that the distance the midfielders have to cover between defending and supporting the lone striker is nackering them . no other team inthe cl will defend almost on their 18 yard line

Seriously? This strike pair have ripped better central defensive partnerships to pieces. They were always going to do that if they managed to get the first goal, as we would have to chase the game.

As for the Webster comment, Webster was sent out on loan to get fit and match sharpness, he didn't start the season with that.
