Boab 73
Rangers have signed former Manchester City youngster Andrew Mitchell on a two-year deal. The 18-year-old midfielder, who can also play at right-back, is eligible for under-19 football next season and will join Billy Kirkwood's squad initially. But hopes are high that he will be one of several youngsters that can force their way in to the first-team set-up sooner rather than later.Mitchell was recently named in Northern Ireland's 18-man squad for the 2009/10 UEFA European under-19 Championship Elite round tournament.Steve Beaglehole's boys will take on Russia, Italy and the Czech Republic in Group 5 which is being hosted by the Russians from May 21-26.And Mitchell got the chance to meet some of his Murray park teammates when he travelled to Hong Kong for the prestigious Soccer Sevens tournament in which Rangers reached the final but lost 3-2 to Aston Villa on Sunday.Seems to have a decent pedigree.Welcome to Rangers

warden90 0
Andrew Mitchell??? On an interesting note; today was the last time that Andrew Mitchell will play for Manchester City as he is off to Hong Kong with his new club Rangers. Here at MCFCRAA we wish Andrew all the best in his future professional football career where ever it may take him. http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=151041&st=

Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
This is definitely one of those positive stories about signing other players even if a youngster, as mentioned Man City do have one of the best academies in Britain, and even though he has been released by them, I wouldn't put too much scope into that, with the money Man City now have at their disposal and being, apparently, able to buy any player they want, young lads like this would never get the chance to break into their first team. Both are about the same age so both can push each other, and if we're looking to the future then we will probably need both!
