1. On top of that is the promised £25m over 5 years for players. Whyte camp mystified at sudden 'alternative plan' offered by Alastair Johnston 4 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

2. Apparently £28m in an account ready for #Rangers takeover to happen. £18m for Lloyds. £10m to go into Rangers account as working capital 7 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

3. Craig Whyte source says #Rangers directors should be careful what they wish for. Thinly veiled threat that he's ready to walk away 11 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

4. In addition to Craig Whyte source quotes already out, he considers suggestion funding not there to be untrue and defamatory

I suspect that there is a bit of skull dugery going on from both sides and there's a bit of politics going on. However bare in mind that white has tried to get the fans on side from the very start, which is always clever move to make sure a takeover isn't hostile. I would expect that this will have to come to some sort of conclusion this week in regards to the CW takeover.

Off the top of my head, could this be a stalling action by the Rangers board to give an alternative bid an opportunity to come to the table?

Kings assets aren't frozen. His tax issue has been resolved and is free to invest again!

No he isn't.

His assets are still frozen as he faces a £250m tax bill, and 300 separate counts of fraud and money laundering charges.

He isn't buying in anytime soon.

My heads spinning trying to work all this shit out.

Obviously no one other than those in the know will really know what is or is not happening, but here's my take on it.

Murray seems so far out of the loop he's letting Johnston deal with things. Why else would Johnston not know about Murray being satisfied that Whyte had the funds needed??? Surely if Murray is happy with the offer, then he should have told Johnston by now that he's content that Whyte has sufficient funds. In that scenario, Murray needs to get his finger out & tell Johnston to keep his gob shut. Whyte has the debt taken care of, plus a £10m sum ready to invest as working capital, AND £25m ready to invest in the squad over 5 years. What part of this does Johnston not like?

Another point is the fact that if the deal was to get done, and we had no debt, we'd also have no interest or loan repayments to make, and would be able to use ALL profits to reinvest in the team/stadium. Not sure what that all amounts to, but am sure it would be a tidy sum over a season.

The only stumbling block may turn out to be the HMRC fine. If Chick Young was to believed, he stated Murray would not be willing to repay this, (despite quotes on here to the contrary). If, and I know it's a big IF, that were to happen, really, we'd be back to where we were a couple of seasons ago with a large debt. Nothing more than that. I have no idea what the real situation with the HMRC case, but have been led to believe that MIH would swallow this up.

From the outside, sounds to me like all parties need to act like proper business men & sit down & get it sorted...rather than using the media to do their dirty work for them.

Probably me taking 2+2 and getting 48! ;)

Businessman bidding to buy Rangers is being sued for £90,000 debt

Dec 5 2010 Exclusive by Derek Alexander, Sunday Mail

craig-whyte-image-1-836769892.jpgTHE tycoon behind the £32million bid to buy Rangers is being sued over a £90,000 bill, we can reveal.

A writ was served on Craig Whyte's firm on Friday - hours after he arrived in Glasgow for crucial talks about his proposed Ibrox takeover.

His Tixway firm are being sued by One Stop Roofing, run by Albion Rovers manager Paul Martin. They are based less than half a mile from the Rangers ground.

Martin, 45, and co-director Robert Jenkins, 43, claim Whyte's firm ordered thousands of pounds worth of building materials in June 2009.

The businessmen also say the firm run by Whyte - who denies their claims - failed to maintain a repayment plan thrashed out at the start of the year.

Sources close to the pair claim the 39 year-old paid two instalments before failing to come up with any more money.

Glasgow-based McRoberts Solicitors served the writ against Tixway in a bid to recover the cash.

Whyte and his wife Kim are the only directors of Tixway, who have an office in Glasgow's Bath Street.

A source said: "Martin and Jenkins feel they've been very patient and have waited long enough for their cash.

"The amount of money we're talking about doesn't seem like a huge sum for a wealthy businessman - but it is to a small business.

"No one wanted to start legal proceedings but there appeared to be no other option.

"Martin and Jenkins have tried to get Whyte round the table and sort everything out but it's proved to be impossible.

"They are surprised a man who's buying a football club like Rangers for millions of pounds is not prepared to pay a £90,000 bill."

But Whyte denied his company owed the money. A spokesman said: "His firm have done business with One Stop Roofing but all bills have been paid in full.

"Any legal action will be defended robustly."

Lifelong Gers fan Whyte is set to buy Rangers in a £32.5million deal with Londonbased property developer Andrew Ellis.

The pair are pledging to wipe out the club's £27million debt and pay another £5.5million to shareholders - around £4.6million of which will go to club owner Sir David Murray.

Whyte splits his time between his home in London and Grantown-on-Spey, where he has spent millions on restoring Castle Grant.

He started to make his fortune through a host of companies with interests in retail, construction, heavy plant hire, security services and industrial and office cleaning.

His specialism is taking over ailing firms and turn them into money-makers.

Whyte heads London-based venture capital firm Liberty Capital, who have operations in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Russia and France, and they provide funding to struggling businesses needing a cash boost.

Sources claim that Whyte's firm Tixway UKonly got involved after One Stop Roofing refused to supply a firm owned by a friend of Whyte and who share offices with Tixway.

One Stop Roofing were reluctant to do business with Snowcast because they could not obtain credit risk insurance against the firm.

Yesterday, Martin and Jenkins refused to comment. During a playing career which spanned 17 years, Martin played for Kilmarnock, Hamilton Accies, Dumbarton and Albion Rovers.

Glasgow Sheriff Court confirmed that a writ against Tixway UK had been served.

No aged very well eh mr whyte , been worrying alot in the last few years ?

To be frank mate, I'm more worried about his dodgy barnet & duff clothes than that story. The article doesn't say he's not got the cash to pay it. That looks like an awful ginger wig in that pic! <cr>

I'm pretty sure he decided to settle out of courts a month or so ago, under advice from his lawyers that the legal fight would pretty much wipe out his personal wealth regardless of the outcome.

King's money is all frozen and will be for years.

He'd struggle to buy a season ticket at the moment and if he escapes jail, he's going to lose most of it.

There seem to be conflicting views on wether Kings tax case is finished and settled. Are there any sources online that can be checked?
