Broxi 11,531
How is that better if it's a 10 team spl instead of 12, ithought we were wanting more teams in the league like 16 or 18?

Right_To_Censor 1,951
who ever let certain other teams to vote pretty much killed the league.more teams = less rangers celtic visits, instead of rangers and celtic playing each team twice away it will be once away you have michael johnston and thompson bleating about how much they're being done over.ITS FUCKED
mac444 6
Why go backwards? More teams is the answer not less
docspiderman 1,243
who ever let certain other teams to vote pretty much killed the league. The old firm used to have the voting weight but I think it was when John McCleland was chairman that he sided with the smaller teams to originally change the voting system "for fairness" and let the Dunfermlines etc rule the roost and dream up spl tv etc.Later the voting changed even further in favour of the mediocre. dazzapat 83
No matter how much we go on about it, a 16/18 team league will not happen, tv companies will not accept any less than the current amount of Rangers v Celtic games that are currently televised.TV rules the roost now and we have to go with the money. BeautifulSeas 10
I just read the details on this. What a horrible idea. When will they learn? 12 teams is stupid enough as it is. We need more and play each other twice a season, home and away.
FlippinEck 3,708
2 leagues of 10 would be the death of scottish football
trueblue68 2,497
The part i do like of this proposal is that there will be a Rangers B side in the Scottish league could help our younger players progress.
Bothwellbear 1,392
this will kill our game. we are sick of playing the same teams all the time. tv wont want to show it,fans wont want to go to see the same shit week after week after week. we need more teams....please please let it not happen
blueben_d 40
We had 10 team leagues before, it didn't work. Who comes up with these schemes and how much is the cash strapped SPL paying these fucking numpties?
RFC55 109,438
The people wanting the leauge extended to 18 etc, Dunfermline are top of the 1st division and we slaughtered them 7-2 at Ibrox with a mixed side. The quality would be dragged down further imo if we had to add another 6 sides to the leaugeFuck knows what the answer is tho. This season has seen some good games and we done a reasonable job in the CL so its not all doom and gloom
blueben_d 40
Short term yes, but given a few seasons back at spl level and the likes of Dunfermline will be no worse than any other team. Also the scum horsed the Sheepshaggers does that mean they are not good enough for the spl (long term) People need to think a bit more long term than this not only in regard to quality but also in regard to tv revenue. If we can get the SPL right it will eventually be more competitive and hence generate more cash. Yea tv companies want 4 old firm games cos they are the most interesting, but if we get it right then the Edinburgh derby becomes exciting and attractive to outside viewers and other games too. That should be the ultimate goal not focus on short term wringing out a few more pennies and ultimately having a stagnant boring league that will never get any better
