mrwin 393
As a long-term fan of David O’Meara’s operation, I probably haven’t tipped enough horses from the stable this year, as O’Meara has had yet another terrific season. A feature of his success this year has been the number of multiple winners; 18 of his horses have won more than one race, and eight have won at least three races in 2012. INGLEBY ANGEL is one of those eight, but his two most recent performances have suggested that he might not have finished winning yet, and whilst he has to prove his effectiveness at the trip in the 1m2f handicap at York (4.15), he has certainly shaped as if worth a try over further than a mile on his last two starts. He did extremely well to win at Ayr last time, missing the break by around ten lengths but gradually working his way into the race and finishing strongly to win with a bit to spare. A 6lb rise leaves him still potentially leniently treated and he is very well suited by testing ground, and he’s clearly at the top of his game – he was closing in all the way to the line on Talent Scout (won a 17-runner handicap next time) having allowed that rival first run at Newcastle on his previous start, and he looks interesting again despite having to prove himself at the trip. 9s into 6s
mrwin 393
At Wolverhampton this evening (8.45) I think GABRIAL THE BOSS is likely to be hard to beat in the nursery. He shaped very well on only his second all-weather start over this course and distance last Saturday, travelling strongly but forced five wide round the home turn, still the only one to get close to the progressive winner Progenitor in a race run in a good time for the grade/age. He runs off the same mark here (will be 2lb higher from tomorrow) and it might take one well ahead of its mark to beta him if repeating that effort. Smashing this up,now 5/2!!
