Escobar 13,676
Have to play 3 qualifying rounds to get into the Champions League?
TerryHurlock 21
Not 100% sure about next year with the european spots. But both Rangers and Septic have to make use of these CL spots that come at the end of this season or at least us going into the groups of the CL then an extended run in the Europa. Steg-il Ostenstad 11
I dont think we'll be seeing much of Scottish clubs in the Champions League over the next 5 years to be honest. This years display by all our clubs is going to destroy the co-efficient.

Misteral 2,932
What's an extended run in Europe? That doesn't happen in Scotland. Not now, and maybe we'll need to wait a wee while for another one.
Clemdog 39,389
I think that's Scottish football done for CL.
Mor3los_1 3,672
What kinda teams will we play in the first of the 3 qualifying rounds. San Marino and Kazakhstan-esque.
kanjo 26,332
I highly doubt Scottish Football will see Scottish representation for a while...not until there is a revamp to the same extent as Germany in 2005.
Amac9 2,060
It could be a while before a Scottish side get back into the CL.
Escobar 13,676
If that's correct, means our season will start in June

Maroc 17
said it in another thread but at the end of the game on the radio dodds said that the winners of the spl go through to the CL group stages is that bull or........?
LuxembourGer 3
What kinda teams will we play in the first of the 3 qualifying rounds. San Marino and Kazakhstan-esque. Differdange or one of the other 'Bourgish teams would be good, on a purely personal level.
TheFarmer 260
The champions will always have a right good chance of making the groups, 2 QF rounds next season and 3 QF rounds the season after, but all are against champions of similar ranked leagues. Our wage budget is more than maribors and malmos put together, we should be beating these teams.
Mor3los_1 3,672
Its actually terrible that over half of our co-efficient as a nation relies on 2007/2008.
kanjo 26,332
Germany are a highly efficient nation and the strongest economy in the EU. Whatever we do will be a joke.Cut prices for tickets to £15 per SPL game, get the fans back, then work on the game itself. Tonight i'm afraid will keep even more people away from paying £28 for a game of football.
SirWalterSmithLegend 206
We are a long way away from being winners of anything right now. Premature thread imo.

Escobar 13,676
Sorry Deccy, im still pretty upset. I dont know mate. No bother mate, we're all obviously annoyed and hacked off. Just heard people talk about it at the game tonight and was unsure about the circumstances of the Scottish teams out of Europe. No worries SWSL
GaryMc 2,394
I combination of that lot across the city being pish in Europe/not getting there and every other team from Scotland being pish has killed us.Our recent record in Europe certainly hasn't helped either. GersAvA92 53
What's the current stages in the UCL for the winners and runners-up of the SPL after this season? I'm sure it's better than now but it'll drop significantly the season after that. 2014-15 looks good if we Scottish clubs can do better next season lol
Iakona 2,261
Posted this in another thread. In the 2011 rankings(end of last season) we finished 15th, hence why we have 2 places in the 2012/13 champions league. Both teams go in at the 3rd round(same as this years qualifying)However for the 2012 rankings(this season) the SPL is currently sitting 17th.. But 7 of the countries below us still have a team in europe, so we will most likely finish the season at 20th. Which obviously means we're back to 1 place in the 2013/14 Champions league.. Champions go in at the 3rd round once again. It does not end there though.. To make things worse this our last year with the UEFA cup final on the co-ef.. So when you take that off it leaves the SPL sitting at 28th in the 2013 rankings(2012/13 season)... We would need an extended run in europe from 2 teams just to get to 25th.. But regardless of that the winners of the 2013/14 SPL would go in at the 2nd qualyfing round of the 2014/15 Champions League. To summarise.. in 4 seasons the SPL has went from 13th to 28th in Europe.
