So about 2 weeks before this starts, thought I would fire a thread up.

We should manage to get out our group and make the QF's. It is pretty decent that we play all our games in order of how tough they should be, ending with the toughest against England. We can beat the Argies I am sure. Beat them twice away last year so I expect us to win. It will be a tough match for sure though. Argies are no mugs. We have some of the best forwards about just now so if we stick to our forwards game and it comes off, we will do well.

The other teams and how I think they will do? Wales have a tough as fuck group. The Boks, Fiji & Samoa. Oooft, they will have to be at their best to get out that group. Ireland are looking a bit out of sorts so they could maybe get fucked out. Italy have been getting better and better and they will be no walkovers. Especially since it took Ireland a last minute score to win in the 6 Nations. England look alright, they'll be in the QF's/SF's.

I ain't too sure who will win. If you asked me on Friday I would have said New Zealand but after them losing the Tri Nation, I ain't so sure. Aussies have a good team and its a tough one. I don't think a European team will win anyway. I just hope to fuck England don't play like they usually do in World Cups and just go for 3 points all the time without doing any real attacking.

Players to watch :

James O'Connor

Quade Cooper

Maxime Médard

Imanol Harinordoquy

Dan Carter

Richie McCaw

Manu Tuilagi

Kelly Brown

Jamie Heaslip

James Hook

And if I had to pick a winner - New Zealand with Austraila just behind. One of them two should win.

No Richie Gray in the players to watch section?

He'll do a job for sure, 6'10 at 22 years old is ridiculous but I dunno, he's still 22, only got 10 or so caps. I am not sure he has the experience yet although this World Cup will teach him a lot.

The odds for rugby betting is usually shite and I try and bet the points margins or draw.

Scotland vs England to have no tries is always a good bet. Same as betting it to be a draw.

Really looking forward to this, feeling more positive about Scotland than I have in a long time. Jackson at stand off and lack of class at centre is a worry but other than that we look strong. Nathan Hines on bench and Beattie at home shows we have some depth.

I think Richie will be our standout player of the tournament.

Hope I can stay up for tonight :D

NZ - Tonga was a bit average. NZ weren't all that good. It was more of Tonga giving NZ to much respect in that first half. Second half was really poor by NZ and obviously they can get through games against teams like Tonga not even playing that well. Tonga were much better in the second half and they defended superbly at one point. Also used their pack well and were battering the NZ scrum, might have got a penalty try but they eventaully got the try. NZ had some lovely touches and their offloads were great.

Scotland v Romania. We should win easily. We should get 40/50 points on the board.
