Can't believe Rabiu Ibrahim is on trial with Celtic, a few years ago he was massively tipped for big things.

I suspect they don't come much bigger than Wanyama's massively tipped big thing up yer shite pipe. :craphead:

Former Hibernian forward Derek Riordan has been training with Kilmarnock with a view to moving to Ruby Park until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, capped three times for Scotland, will play in a bounce game against Rangers at Murray Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Riodran has been without a club since a disappointing spell with Chinese outfit Shaanxi Chan-Ba.

He left Hibs in July for the Super League club, but departed in November.

Kilmarnock are looking for a replacement for Dean Shiels, who is set to return to Doncaster after a successful loan period.

Riordan, who spent two seasons at Celtic between his two periods at Easter Road, has scored 95 Scottish Premier League goals - making him the third highest goalscorer in the history of the competition, behind prolific Old Firm duo Kris Boyd and Henrik Larsson.

Good article, but I don't agree with the Podolski and Jelavic/Hooper shouts and certainly the league 1 comment.

Using Sammon as a basis of the point about SPL is a poor one, he's at one of the worst clubs in the division and was never going to be a big scorer in that league. Jelavic and Hooper are far better players and would score in that league, hardly poorer players than the likes of Morison, Helguson, Holt and Graham who've all scored 6-7 goals this season.

Put the likes of Hernandez at Wigan and see home many goals he would get!

Podolski didn't cut it at Bayern, but that's happened before with very good players, VDV being a prime example!

Statistics can be manipulated and not tell the whole story, for example 26 goals in 50 starts is a much better statistic for Lucas.

Complete idiot of a writer.

On Kaka: "If he had come to the Premier League when City were interested back in 2009, I would've been as excited as a chimp on a helter-skelter. But unfortunately he "bottled it" and chose the easy option of joining Real Madrid instead"

Arrogance is incredible. It's nothing to do with bottling it or going for the easy option, it's to do with joining the biggest club in the world, or fucking Man City.

Wank.

Apparently Real Madrid are going to Suarez an escape route out of the EPL

Real Madrid target £30m Liverpool striker Suarez

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is ready to offer Luis Suarez an escape from his Liverpool nightmare with a £30m bid for the striker, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish giants hope to take advantage of the furore surrounding the Uruguayan international with a sensational swoop in the January transfer window.

Out of action: Liverpool's Luis Suarez

Suarez is currently serving an eight-match ban following his race row with Man United defender Patrice Evra.

He was also banned by the Football Association for one match and fined £20000 for a gesture made towards Fulham fans.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has staunchly defended Suarez and insists the team's show of support had been 'wrongly interpreted' as he defended the club's record on race relations.

The Reds were criticised in some quarters for their staunch defence of Suarez, who received an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.

Liverpool players wore t-shirts in support of the Uruguayan as they warmed up to play Wigan before Christmas, just after the punishment had been handed down.

Since then, the club have apologised to Oldham defender Tom Adeyemi after he was allegedly the subject of racist abuse by a supporter at Anfield during an FA Cup tie last Friday night.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Adeyemi was released on bail on Sunday.

The head of European football's anti-racism group FARE, Piara Powar, accused the Reds of creating a 'tribal fervour' with their reaction to the Suarez affair, but Dalglish felt the sentiment behind the t-shirt gesture had been misunderstood.

He told the club's official website www.liverpoolfc.tv: 'Obviously there was a big issue with Luis. The players showed support for Luis which was fantastic, but then some people interpreted that wrongly as the players saying they're not interested in the fight against racism.

'That is totally and utterly rubbish. If we can help to eradicate racism or discrimination from any part of the society, with the help of anybody at Liverpool Football Club, then that help will be forthcoming.

'We don't want racism anywhere near football and certainly not anywhere near this football club.'

Liverpool opted earlier this month not to appeal against the length of Suarez's punishment having received the full written judgement from the independent commission appointed by the Football Association to hear the case.

On the subject of the alleged abuse towards Adeyemi, Dalglish said: "If Tom, the police want any help in any way, shape or form then we'll give it to them. For me, the most important thing is that as a football club we all stick together. We all have a responsibility to act responsibly."

The Scot does not believe Liverpool would have the worldwide following they enjoy if they were perceived as being racists.

He said: 'Our football club is based on being a football club serving the community, and whoever is in the community we will treat as an equal.

'It never has been a club that's discriminated and never will be one that discriminates against anyone else.

'For us, the football club is more important than any one individual, whether that person be a supporter, a player or the owner. It's not about the individual, it's about the football club and we should be very proud of this football club.'

Marseille also want 22m for Remy aswell

Marseille slap £22m price tag on Tottenham target Remy

By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER

Last updated at 10:18 AM on 10th January 2012

Tottenham have been told they will have to splash £22m on Marseille striker Loic Remy.

The French international, a one-time target of north London rivals Arsenal, has been on Harry Redknapp's radar for 18 months.

Chairman Daniel Levy has held talks with Marseille over a move in the January transfer window. Spurs have offered Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko plus £7million for Remy.

But Marseille, who have qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions League, would rather use the money to spend on a replacement.
