ray 105
LAWWELL, DONCASTER, THE SPL AND CELTIC'S EBTIF there is anyone out there who is surprised that it took the Scottish Premier League just 48 hours to clear Celtic of any wrongdoing in their use of an EBT, then that someone must have been living on Mars for the last year. For that is just about the only place in the universe where it appears Celtic’s all powerful chief executive Peter Lawwell’s writ does not run.Neil Doncaster may walk about with the title of chief executive of the Scottish Premier, League, but as far as appearances are concerned he looks like no more than a lackey.Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell’s lackey, that is.Many people now believe that when Peter Lawwell says, jump, Neil Doncaster asks, how high? And through which hoop? One thing Neil Doncaster has never answered properly, for instance, is exactly why it was that Peter Lawwell, a man with no previous position on the Scottish Premier League Board, was suddenly parachuted in to top level last ditch television talks with Sky.And when? Was it, for instance, before the news leaked into the public domain via a Daily Record exclusive, that Lawwell had been in London representing the SPL at negotiations with Sky?And if so, why was the news not made public? Did Neil Doncaster feel there was something to hide? The story which laid bare Peter Lawwell's previously hush-hush involvement with the SPL, like many the Daily Record has uncovered, was sure to have left Lawwell seething. The Record increasingly looks like the only part of the Press in Scotland which is not in the iron grip of Peter LawwellOr was Lawwell suddenly granted privileged and unprecedented access to the Scottish Premier League top table in the period between that Daily Record tale first alerting everyone to what appeared like collusion between SPL’s Neil Doncaster and Celtic’s Peter Lawwell and the pair being caught on camera in the departure lounge at Glasgow Airport on their way to London? What Doncaster has also never explained is why it was necessary for Peter Lawwell to be included in the television talks and for the Celtic supremo to work so closely with his lackey, SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster when Celtic already have a director sitting on the SPL board, Lawwell’s £250,000-a-year Parkhead finance director, Eric Riley.Though that lack of an explanation from Neil Doncaster, just like the SPL’s stampede to clear Celtic of any EBT wrongdoing, is no surprise. For the simple reason that Neil Doncaster, either instigating Peter Lawwell’s access to SPL powerbroker, or agreeing to go along with it whoever came up with the wheeze, is inexplicable.Just about the only thing Neil Doncaster could say on the subject which would ring true and be believed by almost everyone, would be to admit that Peter Lawwell is now the most feared and powerful man in Scottish football, that Peter Lawwell now rules the roost with such complete control in a bullying reign of terror, that nobody can refuse him anything and that he, Neil Doncaster, was in no position to shut Lawwell out.Does that explanation read right? Do you believe that? You may, but I could not possibly comment.Celtic and an EBT? Wrongdoing? The very thought of it. Move along now, is what the Scottish Premier League, the latest Scottish football governing body to fall victim to Peter Lawwell’s dictatorial reign, seem to be saying. Nothing to see here, is what they Neil Doncaster and the Scottish Premier League seem to be saying. Before, possibly adding, and anyway, we are far too busy with our witch hunt against Rangers to have time for anything else.posted by leggoland @ 08:

Smile 26,622
Leggo let others work him from behind for a few months there and lost all credibility. When he attacks the Bheast, his articles are spot on. However, I barely read what he has to say now, after his pathetic love in with the Troo Bloo Knights.Agree with that, if he stuck to Articles like this one and the other more coherent ones he would be a Great Voice for the Rangers support.I think most Bloggers on Rangers have opinions that some don't agree with but i suppose at least they put themselves out there. elephants stoned 2,994
He has been alot better recently and seems to have stopped his attacks on CG, hope this continues As for Liewell, he must have his fingers in more pies than Greggs because his influence is shocking these days, when has one club ever had so much control in a governing body? thebooler 4,509
Me thinks Leggo heard me on Radio Snyde on Tuesday, when nobody on the panel could answer my questions on these very issues.First I was met with the obvious 2/3 second silence, and eventually cut off. They're even trolling on here on match days when they could be at the San Giro. Bets are when they're playing Benfica we're still entertaining more of them than WE have logged in. SectionRedHMS 190
Personally I think the power of these people is totally overestimated. They thought they could kill us off and a new era would begin.Sorry,to disappoint you,but we are getting stronger by the day,our fan base is truly global(unlike the plastic paddy diaspora they claim),the blood letting is over and we are united, the really big players are lining up,the shite mongers in the press have been warned,we are a bit wiser as a support, and building a new fan base across the UK.I could go on,but you guys all know the buzz we're all getting, the haters can only imagine how it feels to be us.I love being a Bear. loyalfollower 1,543
After much deliberation I can see what leggo means, but it's abit far fetched, ra sellic need us back in that shit hole of a league, who else is going to push them and raise the competition?? After group stages are over the tims will run away with that league and only rangers could stop that happening. I do think now that trying to link our punishments to them has no foundation especially after mcmurdo revealed that Fullerton had nothing to do with our clubs finances, I just think the SPL and sfa leaders are not up to the task
