Elgin City double header

11 games in to the league campaign, and currently Elgin are looking to be our biggest rivals.

Right now, they're 4-1 up at half time, away to Stirling Albion.

(Edit: A goalless 2nd half saw it end 1-4)

That will keep them 2 points behind us, having played 1 game more.

So they would definitely seem to be our biggest rival right now, and we're now facing them twice when they're on a great run of form, and are playing with confidence. We'll have to be at least as good as we've been the last few matches if we want to repeat the 5-1 win at Ibrox from early in the season.

But two back to back wins against them would knock a fair bit of stuffing out of them, open up a bigger points gap, and take us one round further into the Scottish Cup - so a lot to play for.

We are Rangers - elgin can worry about the team above them.

A frustrated reply mate - after watching the boks win at murrayfield - typical Scotland display in any sport, 2nd half was all us - and zip all to show for it.

Although elgin may be our competitors - surely they're not going to push us for top spot - that is ours, without question. Suit or no suit.

Hopefully nobody will push us for top spot. My point is that Elgin's run of form will entitle them to some belief that they can take something from the two games and that now is their best opportunity.

So we have to be ready for that - is all I'm saying

I like a wee bit of chat about the opposition .

I think there's points for us to drop yet in this league, but not at home and both these games are home fixtures, so they can do the worrying.

Mainly about what to tell their grand kids on the week they played twice at Ibrox, and got thumped both games, ha ha.

I'm going for 12-0 over both legs. :D

As are we. There is nothing to fear here, we will beat them twice, with ease.

Not being sarcy

Just stating the obvious tbh

I grew up watching 9 in a row so just saying how far we have fallen

It's November mate. We've been in this league nearly 4 months. The team is adjusting, so should you. We aren't worried about Elgin, but you have to take your competition seriously. It comes down to 11 men v 11 men, you have to earn your victories at any level.

I know mate

We should respect every opponent now, the days have gone where we laugh at 3rd div teams

I disagree, i think that has been our problem all too often in recent years. Showing mediocre opposition far too much respect. We are better than them and we should not be ashamed or scared to feel that way or show that with positive line ups, confidence and forward thinking play.

Would expect Elgin to be fired up like a cup game but then peeter out. We've found form, rhythm and abit of swagger recently that I can't see us losing in the league now.

You never know but especially with Kyle getting 90 mins and a goal and with temps to come back we'll win the league with 7 games or so to spare
