GMac 1,405
On the subject of golf, Scott Jamieson just won the first event of the European season with a final round 57. His European Tour profile states that he is an avid Rangers supporter. A player worth following this year along with fellow bear Marc Warren. Does SJ look like a serious contender then for a few wins this year? Is he young- in his 20's?
docspiderman 1,260
Any idea what tournament that was? Does SJ look like a serious contender then for a few wins this year? Is he young- in his 20's?It was in South Africa, the Nelson Mandela Tournament, first event of the 2013 European tour. The tournament was badly affected by the weather and restricted to 3 rounds on a very modified course, hence the low scoring. Scott has been improving year by year and finished 53rd in the European Tour money list but this was his first win. He is in his late 20,s and has been reasonably solid without showing consistent brilliance. Will be interesting to see what this victory will do, hopefully it will lift his confidence and lead to further wins. Is he young- in his 20's?Certainly has the ability and pedigree. Represented Scotland in the Eisenhower trophy along with Richie Ramsay who has also won in past year. Both are worth following.Players to follow.EuropeRichie Ramsay world ranked 52 age 29Scott Jamieson world ranked 115 age 29Kristofer Broberg world ranked 121 age 27StatesBud Cauley ranked 69 aged 22Casey Wittenberg ranked 109 aged 28Luke Guthrie ranked 119 aged 22The aim for all of these guys will be to get inside the worlds top 50, that gets exemptions for the majors and world golf championship events. All are well placed to do this so expect them to go all out early in the season.Broberg and Guthrie are the two players of real interest. Broberg turned pro in 2010. He won three events on the Nordic tour in 2012 then went on the Challenge tour and won four times within the space of a couple of months. Luke Guthrie only turned pro in 2012 but won twice on the Nationwide tour and also played 4 events on the main PGA tour finishing in the top twenty three times.Ramsay and Wittenberg have the best pedigree. Ramsay won the US Amateur, Wittenberg was a runner up and also finished 13th in the Masters as an amateur. Finished 10th in the US open last year.Scott Jamieson supports Rangers and thats good enough reason to follow him.

Kristofer Broberg finished second and SJ finished 3th. Bet Jamieson at 50/1 each way. Pity about the break. Next tournament isn't until January 10th.
