bede 19
Good night Charles presented himself well, spoke for longer than expected and wasn't afraid to answer any questions. What I got from it is that he has a strong feeling for changing the whole system that Rangers have. No longer will we waste money on trying to compete with the EPL sides, we cannot do that without running up huge debts instead he wants to model us on the dutch idea of youth. He spoke of wanting to mix 5-6 youth players with a few of those guys who are at clubs like barcalona, not playing, or even on the bench but the 22-23 year olds who won't be getting games and Rangers can buy them for 2m. Only 33% of the clubs revenue will go to players wages, currently it is less than that, and as the revenue grows so does the wage bill. His plan, he said was in three financial years to have the clubs revenue at 100m. That's 60m for topflight + europe 20m+ from merch and the rest through new forms of money making via media advances, and sponserships. He is still hopeful of the club leaving Scotland. He has several players lined up to sign on bosmans in Sept who will play in pre--season friendlies. There will be friendlies against Linfield at Ibrox - he hinted to the idea of the league trophy being presented then. There will also be a friendly against Aresnal and before the match Aresenal are going to present the historic shares back to Rangers. There is talk of possibly having a friendly with Newcastle for GazzaRangers have a new shirt sponser and the ground looks like it shall be renamed both on one year deals. In the long term future he would like to extend the grounds capacity. Rangers will be sueing a club who have tried to tap-up our young star goalkeeper. The media image of rangers will be changed.
