BRITNEY IS NOT FEELING IT 8,293
Does it make a difference to the way the team play , depending what surface the game will be on .?Do we train / prepare on astro for games that'll be on astro ,? Jimfanciesthedude 24,770
Murray park is astro, they have no excuses
ca11um 30
It shouldn't make a difference seeing as Murray park has one and the 4 or 5 teams have an astro pitch last season You are playing football on it and why should the type of grass affect how you play ? elephants stoned 2,994
Ally said last season after Temps injury on Astro that we would not train on it as the risk of injury was too high. I assume that's still his position.
BRITNEY IS NOT FEELING IT 8,293
Murray park is astro, they have no excusesAye I know that ,also that they have no excuses ,although they have grass too , although do the team train on astro for a game that'll be on astro ? just wondering
AlBear. 8,499
Of course there's a difference. But no excuses. We are use to playing on 3G/4G after last season.

simplythebest 11,453
Our multi million pound training ground should prepare us for either situation.
ca11um 30
It does make a difference though imo ,I'm not arguing with that but in your opinion what differences do you see when players play on astro instead of grass ?
WilliamFyfe 1,438
Passing football is ideal on football. Blaming the grass is just a shit excuse.
peter huistra 1,740
Games tend to be a bit faster and you feel it a lot more after the game than when playing on grass , its also important to anticipate the bounce of the ball , which is a lot different than a ball bouncing on grass . Having said that it`s not like in tennis where a good player on grass might be shit on clay/hard court etc , imo a good player should be able to play to his potential on either surface . BRITNEY IS NOT FEELING IT 8,293
We have a 3G pitch at Auchenhowie. If we don't use it to prepare for games on Astro- then we're asking for trouble. That's exactly what I'm saying , especially if Ally said he won't risk players after Temps injury last season .Would like to know if the team train on grass all week ,regardless of the upcoming game surface
BRITNEY IS NOT FEELING IT 8,293
I'm not arguing with that but in your opinion what differences do you see when players play on astro instead of grass ?On astro the bounce of the ball , speed of the ball across the surface when passed ,which leads to more anticipation by the player to get the ball under control
nachothelegend 1,932
Should we try Red Ash then?
BLUEDIGNITY 33,684
Is that part-time Grass v Astro or the full-time professional Grass v Astro ?
thegummy 4,472
Templeton seems to get injured on astro. I think it's to do with it being less slidey and some players are used to using the slideyness of grass more than others.
