The McCoist manual of tactics

1. If you're in your own half, pass the ball back to the player you got it from.

2. If you can't do that pass it back to the keeper, he'll lump it upfield. Never mind that you had possession and now you haven't.

3. Opposition corners and free kicks are incredibly dangerous moments (even more so when sitting on a healthy lead), so put aside any thoughts of creating a counter attack. Get every one back, especially players renowned for being great defenders, ie forwards, so you'll then be well prepared for any clearance to come straight back.

4. There's nothing more you need to know.

Wenger and Pellegrini must have a copy.

it is an interesting question it wouldnt get the best out.of a poacher

As much as he's useless as a manager, I'm not having that. McCoist was much more than just a poacher. Maybe in the later seasons aye, but he before that he was much much more than a poacher. A brilliant forward.

Have your whole squad taken from you.

Suffer from a transfer embargo

Have no chance of signing any new blood int his transfer window.

In fact, face the prospect of your best player being sold.

Turn on a lifelong bear.

Forget what Murray, Whyte, SFA, SPL, did to our club.

Hope that the man with 355 goals (27 of them against ra Sellick) is sacked

But still criticise Naisy, Davis, Shagger for no loyalty while indulging in the above.

Choose life!

Choose a job!

Nothing wrong with his tactics but there is something wrong with the players some of blacks passing yesterday was poor as for Daly effort well you see that could go on but if you look at our shape & the way we tried to play the game for me it was the right way

Ahh the daily strawman fest (oopps sorry forgot its not really avoiding the issues and discrediting posters instead because I know there is no defense I can make and remain credible)

how about the league table for a defence , how about 23 points clear as a defence how about our possible goal difference record as a defence, how about he will be the first manager in the UK to win their league as a defence , how about Ramsden cup final  as a defence , how about we have destroyed the Championship leaders as a defence ...not bad for one year

So the style of play does not matter to you?

Or the fact that you feel the need to channel-hop when we are on because we are so brutal?

Winning is an absolute minimum, winning with good football MUST be the goal.

Ally McCoist will have successfully achieved what the board required from him ie. Get the team promoted year on year. End of.

If McCoist fails or appears to not be delivering he will be out the door and rightly so.

If you dont like the style of fitba, then fuck off over to the piggery (plenty seats there).

I dont really remember him in his prime so that could play a part but being a poacher doesnt mean he wasnt a great forward

OP forgot to mention that Page 1 opens with the following............. " A win is worth 3 points (or advancement to the next round of a competition). The best way to achieve this is to score more goals than the opposition."

That'll do for me at the moment.
