Gaz52 11,837
Thinking about him as well - surely a DoF's number one responsibility is to find a manager who he can work with and influence? The board either give the guy a big say in it or just get rid of him as having a DOF that doesn't make any decisions is rather pointless
shaka 1,681
A vocal DoF is someone who is trying to undermine a manager. You want a DoF who quietly does his work in the background creating a stronger infrastructure, scouting networks, etc.
GlasgowRangers1983 461
Not sure if anyone would agree but Pedro was more suited to a DOF position than a manager ? Always talked passionately about what was needed to be successful at a club this size and his authoritive manner and handeling of poor performing players was a breath in my opinion. I think he had something to offer but unfortunately his overall performance as manager was simply not even close to being good enough. Think he basicly talked a good interview and fool the board into giving him the job. Think most of us would agree Pedro is a likeable guy and we all hoped that he would be successful. Just not the correct appointment and the board need to take responsibility for that.
STEPPS BOY 74,167
It simply has to be left to Allen for picking the new manager.

If we're hearing from him then there's something wrong, he should have the final decision on our next manager since the board have shown they have no eye for picking a manager It’s the foreground that needs most attention..... Not that it’ll stop the usual suspects blaming him for all-sorts. Correct. I believe his primary objective for now is to create a scouting network. tannerall 25,935
His actual duties probably include escorting sacked managers to the door, meeting and greeting new managers, making sure all new managers and vistors know who the boss is by pointing to a photo of Mr King on the wall, showing people round the trophy room explaining that's how good we used to be, opening the doors in the morning and makes sure all the lights are switched off at the end of the day or after big games, hoovering the boardeoom carpet twice a week and making sure the drinks cabinet is full, and making sure there is enough milk and sugar for the players teas etc.

40delboy40 248
Tell me what he's bringing to the club., do we really need him or any DOF . Don't know about you but I've become a wee bit cynical with all that's gone on over the last 5 years. Who do we trust??
Orange Persson 548
Craig Levein was sitting in a cushy number upstairs, until he got hauled back into the madhouse. That was his words in an interview over a week ago.
