When you are knocking them in its all good but if you miss a couple or the keeper saves a couple you start to question yourself.

Tav has been brilliant but has missed a couple recently give him a break from the responsibility and he will bounce back.

I agree it's a different skill from being a striker in open play, it's just difficult sometimes to accept your main striker - the guy who should be used to burying the ball in the back of the net - doesn't have more of a skill base for taking penalties than a fullback. 

I understand it of course, but I've always found it quite strange.

Not arsed whether it's a striker , midfielder or defender. Who ever is on form with them will do me .

Even if tav were to step down from taking them, it doesn’t guarantee all the penalties go in, even defoe would miss some. And for the most part tav has put them away great, no reason for him to step down from them
