Because by doing that they'll have stopped journos contacting them for comment throughout the day. Personally, I'd have pulled it and out a stock answer out but they've taken the chance to control the narrative a bit. I've had various folk from clubs on the phone all day today trying to get an idea of what the fuck is actually going on. I spent ten minutes talking about similar the other day with the Falkirk manager because they are a point off Raith at the top of the table. Totally appreciate everything else that's going on but if I'm at a presser, it's my job to ask questions. I've not seen Lennon full one from earlier but they'll have chosen to put that bit out fine well knowing it's the bit that was going to get the biggest reaction.
