FlippinEck 3,734
Klasnic is a good player but like I have said in the other thread, his injuries and health worry me(should we really be interested) He sometimes can't train as it's a strain on his body. Imagine how he'd cope if we went through a season like this again. I think he'd be like Darcheville. A good player but injury prone, a player who wouldn't be able to sustain a long run in the team and with the rumours about the wages, I wouldn't take the chance. thats a lot more valid than "hes past it"

He cant train 5 days a week, cause his body cant physically do it. His training is non contact most of the time and he cant do a lot of things that are expected of a professional footballer. He has to wear a protective fibre glass belt around his kidneys, to prevent them from being damaged. An elbow, knee or even some like the ball getting blasted off his back could put him out for 4-6 weeks. Once the area gets damaged it is tender for around a month as well as the problems it causes. Some days he will be full of energy, other days he'll feel like shit. Klasnic WAS a good player, but the fact Werder are letting their fan favourite go shows he is no longer. FlippinEck 3,734
Of klasnics protective gear "It is so strong a tank could drive over it", there are a couple of big guys in the SPL but no tanks

disgruntled_bear 157
Of klasnics protective gear "It is so strong a tank could drive over it", there are a couple of big guys in the SPL but no tanks As i've tried to explain many times before. His Protective gear can only do so much he can still be hurt on the park!
Cloudstrife3139 0
Yes i wouldn't assess him on tonights performace, he barely had any of the ball, and came on after the game's tempo had died.
Muff 245
Also got to take into consideration that he's had two serious knee injuries which resulted in major surgery.

Bazza 21
I'm not so sure about the guy at the minute. We have big enough casualty just now in JCD. Surely there is a similar quality player out there without the baggage?

Stuart_RFC 41
I'd definatly take Klasnic. He has had a bit of a hard time with injuries but when he is on his game he is a real class act
Muff 245
Who Klasnic? He's on a bosman.
Amac9 2,060
Looks a decent player. 1998–2001 FC St. Pauli 95 (26) 2001- Werder Bremen 141 (45) 2004- Croatia 27 (8)
Muff 245
Good player but hardly kicked a ball in 2 seasons due to illness and injury. Not his fault but slightly worrying.
FlippinEck 3,734
He will be all out to prove he can still play at top level and for that reason I would be willing to take him.
Amac9 2,060
But the problem is his kidney transplant. That would be very worrying as it is not a normal injury like ligament damage etc. We will see what WS does as he has done very little wrong in his brief stint back
FlippinEck 3,734
If it was that bad he wouldnt be playing football at all and certainly not considering a move to scottish football (if he is)
Muff 245
That would be very worrying as it is not a normal injury like ligament damage etc Oh he's had knee ligament damage aswell, twice in fact. Both were serious injuries.
