Columbian Roulette comes here having failed to impress on the turf at Brighton last time out. He would have needed that run and should improve now he's back at Southwell. He came a close second last January and the time before that he was excelling when accidentally jinxing his rider and unseating him. Back here on a mark of 55 we should see him go close. The 6/1 looks too big to me and it'll be a win only bet.

Selection: Columbian Roulette in the 5.15 Southwell

:-))

2nd,mugged on the run in!

Showed a small profit for e/w stakes

Here's the same for tomorrow

then and we’re off to Bath for an interesting looking contest. Our trainer is Mark Johnston and it has to be noted that his stable is in blistering form at the moment with a whopping 21 winners in the last two weeks. He looks to maintain that impressive strike rate with his course record standing at 24% for a level stakes profit of £26.83p. He’s a few runners at the course but the one that offers the most value runs in the 6.40.

Sherston wouldn’t be your first choice on recent form however if we look a little closer he seemed to improve massively for running on faster ground last time out at Carlisle. He comes into this off the same mark and the extra furlong could make all the difference. He wears blinkers for the first time and this should help him to focus on the job in hand. Franny takes the helm again and will have got to know this horse now and should employ the right tactics to put this race to bed. Combine all of this and with the stable in blistering form the 6/1 looks way too big and should be closer to 7/2 in my book.

6s e/w

Took 15/8 for Red Passiflora in the 4.00 at Brighton.

Reckon Sir Mark has had long enough to think about what to do with his horses this season, and if he's sending one out that's under a penalty from winning in a Class 6 on Saturday he probably knows what he's doing. Still 5lbs under Saturday's weight although up in class.

And Brighton's a bit sandy and fucked up like what the Polytrac over the AW at Lingfield is.

Southwell looked fucked yesterday. Looked like the horses were running through fudge.

Apricot Sky has failed to make any impression in his last two runs. However he looked to improve last time out despite coming 9th of 12. He ran on strongly when looking to make all and faded in the final furlong which is why I fancy him to take on a drop back to the minimum distance. He also looks well treated in this off a mark of 83 and William Buick is riding out of his skin. He will have to take on a tough draw but this is reflected in his price of 14’s. It is a competitive race so I will ere on the side of caution and go e/w.

Selection: Apricot Sky in the 2.00 Sandown at 14/1 with Coral for an e/w bet.
