Tbf, If running up and down Gullane sands was all it took to be in the starting line up I'm pretty sure Andy Halliday would be first pick, Just a shame he's no very good. andyhrfc 2,242
There was an expression to describe rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into a difficult task in shit conditions. “Character building”. Dont know if Dubai didn’t fit the bill for character building or whether we just didn’t have any characters to build. Either way we gained nothing that could be of use on the battlefields of Tynecastle and Rugby Park.

ZZed 4,510
It is not fitness we lack but the will to out battle and win. How we get that in to highly paid players who can take the huff and basically down tools and walk away, is anyones guess.
Blue Avenger 22,567
I doubt there will be any fitba never mind pre/mid season trips with this virus. The Ibrox Derry 8,904
That side was one of the fittest football teams in the history of our club. Football fitness is just not all about running distances. 8 or 9km for the average midfielder. Football fitness comprises of power, flexibility, turn of pace, strength, vision and the obvious cardio work. I'm sure Richard Gough used to lap the pitch at Ibrox 20 times before a game. It was part of his warm up. Wee Bud preferred a can of beer and a fag in the dressing room.
