Playing to 16000 fans in a shithole like Saudi. What a way to bow out.

Ross Wilson referring to himself in the third person was a pure David Brent moment.

The covid question.
Douglas Park is a torn faced old prick.

No pride in this, but I never listened to a full Gio press conference or match review, ever. Just couldn't listen to him.
That's a shocker of a post.

It's understandable to be sceptical, Great coaches don't always make great managers. Ask all Fergie's assistants.
However I think he has sounded good so far. Let's hope the results follow.
My gut says the job's too big for him, but here's hoping he proves me wrong.

Didn't even look like one to be honest. Looked like a guy that had won a competition to be here.
They both have that 'the coach has put on a suit' look about them.
I obviously want Beale to do really well and if he does then I won't give a fuck what he looks or sounds like. However, coaching and managing are 2 completely different jobs and I'm just not that confident about his appointment given his lack of managerial experience (at least Gerrard brought some status with him that inspired a bit more confidence - even if only to attract players). Giving Beale a 3.5 year deal also seems bonkers. Can only hope there's a get out clause based on results.

Murty has never been an assistant manager so your judgment must be off.
I didn't say he was, I said he looked like one.
I'll await your apology.

He better not wear a tracksuit on the touchline.

What did Walter sound like when Souness first left?
Like a Rangers manager.

Apology accepted.

Define for me what a manager sounds and looks like compared to an assistant manager. Then we’ll go back and forth for the rest of the year with managers who don’t fit the mould.
Fuck knows what you do for a living, probably sell Gerrard calendars or something, but whatever your profession how would you react to being told you don’t sound or look like you’d be able to do the job?
Daft.
Graeme Murty looked and sounded like an assistant manager. Walter Smith looked and sounded like a manager. Agree?
Being a manager at Rangers is about more than just tactics and formation.
Obviously if results are great then I won't mind if he doesn't look or sound the part, but at this point I'm not confident about Beale and no amount of insults or bullying is going to change my mind.

You were buzzing though when someone with no management experience came to Rangers though.
funny
Clearly mixing me up with someone else. Haven't buzzed about a manager appointment since Walter came back.

You're not the only one as plenty on here have their doubts regarding this appointment. I do think he'll improve us and get the players playing to a higher standard but whether that'll be good enough to challenge for titles remains to be seen. The mismanagement of the club largely due to lack of investment and poor recruitment is the real reason we are currently in the mess we're in and listening to Wilson state almost word for word what he said when Gio was appointed certainly doesn't inspire confidence.
I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover etc, but Michael Beale still looks and sounds like an assistant coach.

I'm going to be honest and say I'm not filled with confidence about this appointment.

Commentater the other day say it was more like a carnavel atmosphere than a football game. Thought that was a good shout.
At least there's no fucking vuvuzelas.

Atmosphere at the Argentina game earlier was the best i have heard.
Welsh fans where quite loud also yesterday.Might just be the broadcast audio.

Is it just me or does the atmosphere feel more like the Olympics than the World Cup?

Think people more mean because he was a class player for us and a guy who’s pretty much universally liked
I'm always sad when any of our managers get sacked, usually because it means we're trailing the tarriers and we've been papped out of Europe. Being an ex player or a nice guy doesn't really factor into it.
