  1. Yeah that’s a fair shout too. I see it like this, none of them are good enough at the moment. Halliday has never let us down but he is limited and won’t improve much at this stage Flanagan is a right back doing his best at left back and is prone to letting the side down on occasion. Barisic has the most potential but for whatever reason it’s just not working out for him here yet and may never happen And he is running out of chances.
  2. Barisic should get back in for the weekend. If he can’t make the jersey his own with Flanagan and Halliday as competition then we are as well getting shot of him ASAP
  3. I have been a critic of Morelos for his attitude, his seeming inability to curb his petulance for the good of the team and his selfishness in general. Never doubted his footballing ability However last night he was selfless, controlled, and his ability came to the fore. The coaching team seem to be getting through to him If he continues to develop the mentality side of his game like this, and last night becomes the norm then I am on board. The other thing that makes me want this more than anything is this kind of shite from the media
  4. Helander must look at him and think he has a job on his hands getting into this team. Edmundson isn’t too shabby either. Hardest part is going to be keeping them all happy
  5. He is a quality player. He Was last year too, before the personal stuff saw him lose his place still got some developing to do so he could become a top top player and for me he is first choice and the other three are fighting for the place alongside him.
  6. Football has gone to shit for sure but our footballing authorities and the fan base that hate Rangers more than they love their own clubs have also led to this being a backwater. We don’t have the population of the big leagues but at the same time if Scottish football was working together to put a product on the pitch that people were willing to pay for then TV money would be a hell of a lot better than it is now but no. We have a media that just wants us all tearing each other apart and blaming the most marketable club for everything. They tear the game down at every opportunity continuously show the worst side of our society just to try and single out one club. They talk down the values of our players and denigrate the game constantly Then We have footballing authorities that are all pandering to the haters and refusing to promote the game. It’s run like an old boys club with no fresh ideas of how to support the grassroots. Christ, the best thing that happened to the lower leagues was all the revenue they got as we had to climb back up but what changed? Games fucked due to the money everywhere else but it’s also fucked because in this backwater all we are doing is fighting over scraps
  7. Cannae help thinking this is just cringe as fuck. Smacks of “look at us look at us.” Rangers have worked with local community since inception. Its always been a Rangers family and we have always worked with good causes. We have never felt the need for such a high profile campaign. No issue with us engaging all these charities, increasing the diversity of our engagement with the communities as they themselves diversify but did we have to milk it to fuck? I was always taught to cover yer work
  8. Didn’t want him back. I was wrong. He will be the difference between the title and second. He is absolutely quality and makes us tick. A bit concerned what the alternative is if he is injured
  9. I have a couple of questions as an overseas bear First off is it possible to get the adult wear without the Bet 32 advertising? Some of it would be much better with just the crest Also instead of buying online is there anywhere to buy this stuff in a shop. I am back in a couple of weeks and would rathe r go in and try it on
  10. If the gaffer leaves before the end of his 4 year contract I will be gutted. And amazed. If he stays beyond 4 years I will be delighted. And amazed.
  11. See both sides of this discussion. I have not been bothered about Stewart, Hastie and Jones type signings, nothing to get excited about. Lets hope they surprise us all but on the other hand who else are we going to get in? Look how hard it was to bring in Aribo, and if the rumours of his wage are anywhere near accurate then we are busting the bank to bring in young, out of contract, prospects. What chance we have of bringing in the finished article? I am optimistic about the new season though and its not about the signings, its about the managers. I think Gerrard just has it and i think Lennon just doesn't have it. Armed with the players we have i think Gerrard has the beating of Lennon with the players he has.... that simple.... now, the window has a long way to run but i just don't see Lennon bringing in the quality they need and getting them to gel together I believe we will win the league but its going to be a tough season
  12. Again the first part might be the case. With Arfield deployed further forward our ability to carve open tight defences improved and people weren’t just giving the ball to Morelos to do something but rather took more responsibility. Undoubtedly we would have been worse off if it hadn’t been for him in the first half of the season but with the addition of Kamara and Defoe and the change of formation we did improve and he became less critical. I don’t want him gone for the sake of him going, I just think we can still win the league without him and Any money in the range of what is being bandied about would be of more value to us than the player staying. It’s an opinion and I am comfortable that others disagree. If the offer is 10 million then I keep him.
  13. Is it? Who? Morelos is leaving. This season or next. He wants to go to a top 5 league. I question whether his stock will get higher than it is now due to the way he is singled out. Maybe it will, maybe in the new season refs will treat him fairly and we won’t be playing critical games with top 3 clubs with only 10 men. Maybe teams won’t target him for winding up. Maybe refs won’t get conned by players play acting around him. Maybe he won’t react like he has done for the last 2 seasons. If all those maybes come to pass then we would maybe be right to turn down anything north of 14 million for him.
  14. I agree with the first part. You might be right on the second part. The reality is he won’t be left alone by referees and I can’t see him changing. If he is still here after the transfer window shuts then I really hope it works out this season.
  15. And? the fact is he plays for us and he keeps getting sent off. Rightly or wrongly is irrelevant. It won’t change. How many points were lost last season because we were down to ten men or missing him through suspension without an able replacement. Our longest winning streak came when he was out for 4 games and we finally had someone to replace him. I get the defence of him but his card is marked. His playing style is to battle and niggle and rough up the opposition. He is not going to be allowed to play his game anymore, let him go do it in an unbiased league.
  16. Not sure if that makes me an idiot or not. I think we are a better team without him. I recognise and appreciate his strengths and think he is a talent that we have been fortunate to have, but his card is marked in Scotland and I think it would be best for all parties if someone came in with an offer north of 14 million and let him go and grow somewhere else while we put the money to use on someone that doesn’t do daft we things that over zealous officials can’t wait to book him for If that doesn’t happen and we start next season with him battling Defoe for a starting slot then so be it.
  17. Marquee is subjective. If you are expecting a bigger name than Aribo or Edmondsen then you might be disappointed. I think our incoming business will be done with those two additions.
  18. Doesnae bear thinking about actually. I hope we are not looking for a new Manager in the next 3 years. The thought of being linked to all the usual suspects agains makes me want to greet
  19. Sadly, I agree with most of that sorry to see the back of Rossiter, Doch and Murphy. I think the three of them just had shit luck and could have been very strong players for us if circumstances had been different. But no place for sentiment in our pursuit of 55 my point still remains that getting that list of players of our wage bill is going to be a hard job
  20. Too many. Pile of work to do to get rid of at least 10 players.
  21. It’s very early in the window but by fuck have we got a lot of work to do getting rid of some deadwood. We have more to move on this year than even the last few years
  22. The appointment of Petrie and Mulraney coming immediately before this little bombshell is too coincidental. Two Rangers hating scumbags in positions of power and then a complete fenian fantasy from 8 years ago is suddenly on the radar. Scottish football the game that hated itself to death.
  23. Thought he was excellent for us and often tipped to be a future captain. He won 5 major trophies in 3 years and then moved on before his knees turned to toffee. I think he would tick most of the boxes. I also was using him as an example, fine if you don't agree with the individual. I was espousing an opinion on the characteristics required of our manager. Particularly I was expressing my bewilderment at my own gut feel that our manager should be British.
  24. He is British. Gets what it means to be a winner at Rangers. Has a passion for it. He is intelligent and is forging a solid career as a youth coach. Which attributes is he missing
  25. I can’t quite put my finger on it but for some bizarre reason I feel we need a British Manager and I feel we need one that understands intrinsically what Rangers is about. Gerrard works because the environment at Liverpool is very similar. Warburton didn’t work because he never “got it”. He could mimic it, he could trot out the words parrot fashion. But he never felt it. Our managerial shopping list should be filtered to British, working class background, steeped in football, with a passion for winning, forged in the culture of moral fortitude and with a level of intelligence and understanding of the modern game. Right now I would have someone like Kevin Thomson being groomed to replace Gerrard if he chooses to leave at the end of his current deal.
