  1. We should be able to attract special players from around Scotland if not the UK with our facilities and the potential for walking into our first team these days!
  2. A 2 year deal on similar wages would have been ok IMO. Then perhaps we wouldn't have been able to afford Whittaker's deal...
  3. Where did you hear that Cousin is available? He might not want to come into a club in such a state and we wouldn't offer great wages, but I'd take him if he has been keeping himself fit.
  4. Can anyone clarify to me who are the people at Rangers responsible for scouting youngsters and bringing them in? Also how long have they been at the club? I ask that as if it's simply a year then you can't simply wave a magic wand. However if it's 4/5 years then you could possibly judge them on the quality of player in the u19's etc? I could accept downsizing to an extent for a year or two to help our financed if I thought there were some youngsters we could blood and it would be exciting to see them flourish. However I really am not aware of anyone on the fringes who would provide that excitement, Perry and Ness aside, and I was even thinking 17/18 year olds? Did Celtic not recruit Park from Hibs youth setup to help identify talent?
  5. People seem to forget that Naismith took a long time to settle at Rangers. And he was a fan who knew all about Rangers expectations. He also came into a squad full of experience. And now he is proving how good he is. Yet whilst I agree he played very poorly today, Mervan is a young guy on a free transfer from Sweden coming into a club in turmoil. We really want him to add creativity to our team but in reality perhaps we have to be patient. Not easy with the standard of creative players currently in the squad though.
  6. It wasn't really a 15 point lead though was it? You have to take into account that they had 2 games in hand, and they weren't tough games. Having said that I don't understand how we got a 9 point lead!
  7. None of the above. A true Rangers fan would not have played for them, be it from youths or straight into first team.
  8. Did he faint afterwards and then say it was his greatest achievement in football? PS I love Barry but he makes a few daft comments at times! Even if he believed it to be true.
  9. I don't think the quotes prove that someone is lying at all. It's just two different interpretations of the situation. Whilst it sounds like Jela didn't demand to leave immediately, he probably played a clever game in that he knew Rangers would sell if offered good money and also stated clearly he wanted to play in the Premiership. I don't have a problem with either quote. From a Rangers perspective he clearly didn't want to stay long term and therefore it's not a lie to say he wanted to leave. If he wants to play in the Premiership, how would he ever achieve that dream if he never left Rangers?
  10. He was very inconsistent with his set pieces at Rangers. Hit the first man a lot, just like every other set piece taker at Ibrox.
  11. The unwashed miss nothing on this forum cos whilst we are working they spend all day as guests on Rangersmedia!
  12. Aye calm down yourself mate! Hardly saying we should be worried - re Tongue in cheek Torres comment. You don't have to love every topic discussed, thats why its a public forum. Thought it warranted a mention like SSN thought it warranted being shown. Whether its truly warranted or not it's hardly farcical - please think before you post.
  13. Any threads created by KeepBelieving1873
  14. Anything Super Ally related deserves a thread on it's own! Have you seen the clip? He did look seriously pissed off, something which you never see from Ally around the media (unless he's raging at pitchside with our usual performances).
  15. SSN showed a clip of Ally on the training pitch beside McDowall. He was on the phone and didn't look happy at all when he came off it. They played it at the same time as saying Jelavic wasn't playing but it could be about anything i suppose. Maybe he was being told our bid for Torres was knocked back? I wonder if News International have tapped Ally's phone?! (yes I know they could only listen to voicemails but still...)
  16. And there's the problem. At clubs like Liverpool and Rangers when you are expected to win most games, a couple of good games half way through a season ain't gonna cut it.
  17. He certainly wasn't the first either. A few have called up with the same point over the last couple of weeks. Keevins reply was shocking as well, making it out as if the football authorities would decide. They were both suggesting it was tax evasion, eh no! This is an issue over interpretation of tax laws, we might lose but it still isn't tax evasion. It would be applying tax avoidance techniques that have been deemed incorrect. As far as Rangers have said they actually took tax advice from professionals Grant Thornton as the time as well, hardly tax evasion. Tax evasion would be deliberate techniques to hide true figures from HMRC. I hope when we know the outcome that any announcement makes it clear this was an issue with interpretation of tax laws, simple. These Celtic fans are getting desperate.
  18. Totally agree with both of you. He could do a job and would be useful on a free but Rangers would be a highlight if his career so far and is he wants to mess about forget it. But again I'll await official word over next couple of days on what the latest is.
  19. Its mental isn't it! I know standards have dropped but come on.
  20. No and thats why I said "possibly". Fact remains based on comments directly from Ally that a pre contract has been offered and terms have not been agreed. Surely the thread title should be changed to Sandaza Latest or something. "Sandaza set to join Rangers after agreeing terms" is so wrong based on what's been said officially by both managers.
  21. Yes the thread title has to be changed now we know from Ally that an offer has simply been made and possibly through Clyde that's it's been rejected. Admin??
  22. Incredible eh! I know we are short and there are some players in our squad who he could replace.... but I think we know he would be average at best. If we are going to give someone a wage then we should at least go for someone who COULD end up a first pick. Healy ain't great etc but at least there was/is the hope he could turn his form around. Stevenson always has been and always will be a very average player.
  23. Is it common for a pre-contract agreement to depend on a successful fitness test at the time when the player will actually join? I don't think it is as you always hear about players signing a pre-contract for financial security instead of letting it run out and risking an injury. This wouldn't make sense if a medical was required down the line anyway? I think that is the point Lomas is making and I can see what he means if Rangers are basically saying sign a pre-contract but if you end up injured screw you!
  24. There is a good chance he will be, Charlie has been subbed for gerrard the last 2 games.
