  1. Bollocks! McCulloch does have a pop from distance, but I'd wager hard cash that he doesn't score any more than 1 in 10 shots, which is a long way away from 'more often than not being successful'.... He's not the ONLY player we have who's willing to have a pop from 20+ yards either! That statement is also bollocks! :pierre: just a thought/observation WHO ELSE IN LAST 2 YEARS APART FROM MENDES ,has had a pop from outside the box......? Boyd, Thomson, Cousin...(edit) Papac, Ferguson... Since he said 'in the last two years', we can also add Adam to that list. Novo's goal in the Scottish Cup final wasn't too bad either.... since he said "in the last two years, adam" yes lets play him then .... and nacho does it once but hey thats acceptable,no wonder we are in the shite we are with blinkered fans like u ffs.... so u think and accept that as ok ,GOD FUCKING HELP US... Don't start putting words in my mouth. I didn't say anything was acceptable. I simply pointed out that saying McCulloch is the only player we have who takes pops from distance & that he's more often than not successful is basically bollocks. I wasn't talking shite. The guy who said those things was. HAVE YOU REALISED that thats the quote most used when someones in denial....just an observation not an argument.. Have you realised that I only said that because that's exactly what you did? No denial involved.

  4. I'm delighted with how good Wilson looked on Wednesday night. I really see him as possibly being Weir's replacement now. I hope Fleck gets a chance up top with Boyd, because that really is Fleck's best position. Playing him on the left wing is crazy, but I suppose he's a better shout for the left than Lafferty who's generally pish when played there. Really looking forward to seeing more of Loy, Ness, McMillan, Wylde & Shinnie. Kinniburgh when he comes back as well.

  7. Romania is an EC country ... surely they should have something to say about civilians being permitted to use pepper spray in their precious Euro-zone Not sure about now, but a few years back when I was in France, one of the lads we were with who was only 17/18 walked into a shop & bought CS gas, a stun gun & a replica hand gun (some sort of pistol). He got them back here by packing them in a pallet that was being shipped back to Brum on a truck.
  8. Ask Juno. :pierre: I'll be happy if manage to make the Europa League now tbh.
  9. There are a number of sanctions available, I think behind closed doors is a bit away yet. I think we'll get bigger fine and a stronger warning; but any more incidents in the next few years and we'll get a stand closed or maybe even a game 'behind closed doors'. To play the Stuttgart game behind closed doors would be particularly harsh on Stuttgart fans.... The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body ruled on the 30th Oct that NK Dinamo Zagreb should be deducted three points and play their remaining 2 games behind closed doors following the crowd disturbances against FC Timişoara in the UEFA Europa League on 1 October. The club have appealed the decision but the date of the appeals hearing hasn't been set. - Points deduction for NK Dinamo Zagreb - (UEFA website) It's not outlandish to think we could be hit with something similar on the 12th & have to appeal it. As Frankie says, we've been fined a few times now. It really depends on how they view the other factors involved, but they're certain to take action for the crowd disturbances, throwing of seats etc.
  10. Hopefully we'll be alright, but it's worth noting that the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body ruled on the 30th Oct that NK Dinamo Zagreb should be deducted three points and play their remaining 2 games behind closed doors following the crowd disturbances against FC Timişoara in the UEFA Europa League on 1 October. 11. Well, for a kick off it wasn't their stadium.
  12. Nothing to read here. Go away or you will be sprayed with CS gas forthwith.
  13. Players were giving the ball away all night though! My point is that it wasn't Novo's fault that he was brought on. It was a poor choice of substitution. Get Miller off, yes, but bring Novo on when our objective is to shut up shop & hold onto the one goal lead? I don't fucking think so! The subs we made after our goal were not only stupid, but completely disrupted the team because other players were being shifted around as well. We needed stability & to shut up shop, not to bring on to attacking players that were going to upset the formation!! Walter has himself & his assistants to blame for making the wrong choice of subs IMO. What fucking manager trying to shut up shop, brings on 2 attacking players while taking off a defensive midfielder?? Taking Kenny & Kevin off might not have been the wrong decision, but the personnel brought on were wrong!
  14. I don't understand why anyone can seriously blame Nacho for the loss of our lead last night. Walter Smith was blaming us not being able to keep the lead on the inability to hold on to possession so near the end, but in all honesty, the substitutions were more to blame IMO. Walter kept Lafferty on the park when he was a bawhair away from being red-carded & had played shite for most of the game. Walter took off a defensive midfielder (Thomson) & put on an attacking mid/striker (Fleck) in his place. He put Novo on for Miller, when he could have brought on Rothen (a good ball retainer) or Stevie Smith & shut up shop the way it should have been done. What happened IMO is that they already had those 2 subs lined up/planned before we got our goal & instead of quickly putting their heads together & coming up with a plan B, which would have been substitutions more aimed at shutting up shop, they just went ahead with what they had previously planned & fired on Novo & Fleck. BIG mistake by Walter, so don't start blaming Novo. Novo isn't the type of player you would normally bring on at the death to shut up shop & try to hold onto a slim lead. He's a livewire that you turn to when the team needs a little something xtra to get a winning goal because he often causes defenses severe problems late in games, but he's not a ball retainer. Sorry, but last night's result isn't Nacho's fault, it's Walter Smith's.
  15. People here are talking about panic buttons etc etc, but to be honest I've been wondering about Walter playing Wilson all of a sudden. Yes, we've all (well mostly) been calling for him to be played ahead of Big Lee Not A Legend, but the fact of the matter is that Walter could easily have played Papac alongside Weir instead of Wilson. As soon as Wilson got his 1st SPL start against DUTD at Tannadice I was thinking to myself 'has Walter Smith capitulated to popular opinion or is Wilson going in the shop window'. There's a third option & that is that Walter decided to trust Wilson over Papac at CB, but coming off the back of Papac playing very very well at CB when asked, I'm tempted to sway towards it actually being Wilson being put in the shop Window. I hope I'm wrong though because Wilson is our Weir replacement & seems very worthy of it too.
  16. I'd be delighted if Rothen runs out at Ibrox tonight FWIW, imo Rothen is probably best suited to playing in a midfield 3 - Davis - Thomson - Rothen.
  17. There's no case for using our lack of European football last year as any sort of excuse for the Sevilla & Unirea results. It's clutching at straws & basically taking the piss to suggest that's any sort of excuse. That's coming from the captain as well. This squad need to get their fcukin' acts together sharpish! They need a kick up the arse!
  18. That's a great sum of money to raise in such a short period of time! Well done!

  20. I'm confident. I think we'll beat them by 2 or 3 goals.
  21. Pretty funny story, but you've got to feel sorry for the guy being stuck in Kirkcaldy!
  22. He's more likely to play Papac in central defense than Lee McCulloch! Looks like Walter has come to his senses regarding playing Lee at CB, thankfully!
