Not happy with this. Nothing to do with his nationality. He is exactly the type of signing we should be avoiding. He is 30 therefore has no sell on value, he is past his peak IMO and will be getting a nice salary. The majority of SPL players we brought in last summer failed to deliver, and I won't be surprised if Daly turns out to be similar. Guys like Nicky Clarke should be our signing policy, young players with a sell on value and will be on relatively low wages. I'm prepared to give Daly a chance just like everyone else we sign though.

Will be a foolish signing if true, although I still see him doing a job considering its Division 2.

Clark. No brainer IMO. He is younger, a proven goalscorer at Division 2 level (yes I'm aware Daly is a proven goalscorer at SPL level, but look at Sandaza). Also, he will be on a much lower wage and has a potential sell on value. Daly is injury prone and past his peak.

Agreed mate. Although, to be fair, I think both would easily cope in Division 2 but that's not exactly a lot to shout about. If Boca decides to stay I'd like to see him partner Gasparotto at the back, and then have guys like Hegarty, Faure and Perry provide cover. Would like to see Cribari leave but don't see that happening somehow, and I doubt Goian will stay. We don't need to bring in guys like Berra or Bikey, they'd probably be on around £10k a week which is shocking for Division 2 and exactly what we should be avoiding. Then again, that's far too sensible for us. Give them both £15k a week deals!

There have been rumours of Bikey and Berra coming to us, pretty sure we offered Bikey a contract on deadline day last year but he turned it down. Quite a lot of players on that list would be great additions for Division 2 but as mentioned above, I doubt many would be interested in playing at that level.

Agreed mate. Really nice, down to earth guy aswell. Spoke to him in the gym a few times and he is brand new.

Hopefully Simpson wins this. He has been very unlucky in the past and is a great wee fighter, local lad too.
