Ask the Newcastle fans..? I have looked around and it´s a kind of lesson in illusions of grandeur.. We might dismiss the fairly comical stuff like how they claim that "toon" is a club in the same size as Arsenal and Liverpool and ought to be able to compete with them on equal terms. We might just shake our heads at claims that Mike Ashley simply puts the TV-money in his own pockets and refuse to spend anything on the team. But the prevailing impression is that they will never forgive him for sacking their local heroes when they where managers. Ashley on the other hand will never forgive them for the death threats towards his family and don´t pay them any attention at all nowadays. But the fact remains that the fans still flock to watch the team and it´s a very profitable club.
Yet another one that don´t understand the new realities.. The Llambias clearout have just begun I suspect and anyone not in favour will be shown the door even at board level.
FFS!.. How hard can it be, new owner, new investments, new brooms within the club and everyone marching to the same beat or gets kicked out. Just need someone to fork up the money
Looks like he´s lending them the money? "Retired businessman Les Hutchison is close to concluding a deal to help fund a fans' takeover at Motherwell. Supporters group the Well Society has been trying to raise money to buy former chairman John Boyle's 70% shareholding. The organisation said in November that it had raised £500,000 and was targeting a further £1m in loans. "
As I read it Llambias told Ally to look for players, even in England and not only at Newcastle... and come back to him to see if anything could be worked out
They actually have a point in that the boycott have just made the club utterly dependant on external Money... Thus giving Ashley and others increased power over the club.
