  1. It was a poor choice of words though, surely that can be agreed? For what it's worth I think it is entirely plausible that anyone could use those words and for the meaning to be benign. But there is something about Sutton, there is a really nasty streak to him that I wouldn't be surprised if he meant it as a kind of pun.
  2. Wasn't at the game but was told there were many (and I'm not talking one or two but hundreds) making obscene gestures at the beginning of the silence. Like putting their hands up to the throats and pretending to be choked and this is what caused an idiot to shout over at them. I'm not in any way suggesting the guy who shouted was right (as has been said above, it was utterly stupid) but it was not unprovoked.
  3. Exactly, it's the little sly look beforehand which makes it intentional.
  4. Surprised this hasn't been picked up by anyone, even Bears. I've now watched the game back again and there is no way Dembele should have stayed on the pitch for what was a deliberate elbow into Hill's face. You don't actually see it in the Sky replay (which wasn't long enough) but if you watch it in normal time you'll see he has a quick look around and as the ball comes to him he throws an elbow and it catches Clint right int he mouth which draws blood. I'm not sure whether Clint should be applauded for his calm reaction or chastised for not remonstrating with the referee. It was a really cowardly challenge.
  5. Why was that rather unfortunate looking character allowed to do this in the first place? Isn't there supposed to be stewards and policing that stop this kind of thing?
  6. Think McAvennie is a creep. One of those who'll pretend to be resonable in the media but is actaully a bitter lying bastard away from public eye. There' a YouTube video of him singing IRA songs and there's also one where he's with Hartson (who is actaully trying to be reasonable when talking about us) and McAvennie keeps jumping in, playing to the gallery by saying we're shite and we've no players. He's a snake.
  7. Expect to hammer this shower of excrement. But any win will do. 2-0.
  8. Like most former players, he is a bit thick. Innit bruv.
  9. He's a horrendous manager and a joke figure in England. Scraping a draw in a one-off game against an underperforming Man City side doesn't change that. They'll finish bottom of the group anyway.
  10. The reactions are understandable though. Nothing wrong with high standards. But I agree, this season has to be put into perspective: not one opposition side has been impressive, not one. We're not firing on all cylinders, yes, of that there is no question. But it will come.
  11. Peformances have been pish but has anyone really been blown away by any of the opposition? Second will be very very doable. It's not nice to hear but this season was always about consolidating. I'd rather take it steady, get the right players and structures in place to be able to mount credible challenges to the title each and every season - which I what I think will happen if Warburton is given sufficient time.
  12. Two good Bluenoses with a stellar record in management thus far. I would take Lennon too, but as I said, I don't like the fact he's managed Bolton. And the fact he managed and played for Celtic makes me think he prefers them to us.
  13. Would take Paul Lambert or Owen Coyle. Wouldn't mind Lennon either but feel he is tainted by his association with Bolton.
  14. It'd called the Easter Lily and yes he has worn it.
  15. Mandela the saint you mean? He wouldn't do anything like that. Let's ignore him telling the IRA not to decomission, the hunger strike monument he unviled in SA alongside Adams and his unwavering support for Arafat. The fact this made it into the charts today is truly terrible. Be in no doubt, had it been the Billy Boys, it woudl have been removed immedeiately at the request of nearly every politican in Scotland along with the media.
  16. Anyone versed in histiry will know tha claim is irrelevant anyway. The "Old" IRA were just as bad, if not worse, than the Provisional IRA. The only reason this myth persists is that in the 1920s, once SF got into power in the newly established Free State, they controlled the education sector, national records (many of which were destroyed or distorted) and former IRA men were employed in the media. Hence the entire campaign was completely re-written. To put it into perspective, during the Troubles which lasted 30+ years, CAIN estimates that the IRA killed around 512 civilans (let's take this as a conservative estimate as some claim over 600), between 1916 and 1923 however, republicans killed around 400 civiilans in a mere 7 year- many of them innocent Protestants. I have no doubt that decades from now, the exact same thing will happen with the Troubles. SF are in power now, hold considerable influence in NI, and have already begun to sanatise their past. People should be aware that Sinn Fein are backing this campaign. Their newspaper is carrying articles encouraging republicans in NI to chip in, and their elected reps on Twiiter are also encouraging it. Think about that for a moment, elected members of a the government in NI are pushing for this song to climb the charts.
  17. That iconic goal against England was one of my greatest footballing memories outside Rangers. Magic night at Windsor. Would like to see the IFA offer him a testiomonial.
  18. Too bad he supported SF and the IRA calling them old friends and allies. Supported Castro and Gadaffi too.
