When I was playing as a kid there was always that mongo kid that was the managers nephew or something and they just used to stick him on at fullback where he could cause the least damage to the team, week after week he would fuck it up but still keep his place in the team.

The worst thing is Clarke isn’t going to make any changes unless the Czech’s score.
He isn’t going to go for the win he’s just gonna sit and hope that Robertson will create something.

How Clarke can watch Gilmour no doubt be the best player all week in training and then say “nah I’ll just pick Christie and Armstrong as they got us here”.

Clarke is the most overrated manager going.
People try to give him credit for getting us to the Euros but conveniently leave out the fact that qualifying became far easier for this tournament than it ever has before.
He’s just another Scottish dinosaur with no grasp on modern football.

How can a team with Foden, Mount, Sterling, Sancho, Bellingham, Grealish & Saka in the squad be so boring to watch.

Even after Patterson showed him up against Luxembourg you had Scotland fans and pundits making excuses “it’s only Luxembourg it means nothing” or “O’Donnell is better defensively” even though Patterson did fuck all wrong at the back except losing possession maybe once.
It all stems from the fact they don’t want a Rangers player playing who isn’t our first choice RB even though he’s still better than every other option Scotland has got.
But if Scotland want to stay loyal to the likes of O’Donnell, Forrest, McGregor & Christie at the cost of the likes of Gilmour & Patterson then we have zero chance of getting out the group. There is only so far having two world class Left Back’s will get you.

I think the only chance is if O’Donnell is being absolutely battered and he is forced to take him off.
Hopefully O’Donnell get’s injured early doors and Patterson plays the full Euros.
