  1. I think his contribution was massively underrated to be honest. His first season at Rangers in the run upto the UEFA Cup Final his pace and power were terrorising teams both in Europe and in Scotland, people ended up forgetting his contributions due to him being finished in his final season he’d lost it completely after a few injuries.

People always bring up Cousin when talking about JCD and state how Cousin was far superior. Cousins at his best: yes he was better but that came around about 4 or 5 games a season JCD was far more consistent and therefore a better player, ability means nothing if you don’t show it.

There is a reason JCD had a better career than Cousin and a reason his scoring record is better than Cousins. Also you have to remember JCD came to us when he was 35/36 and as a player that relied upon pace and power he was always going to be a short term option. If JCD had come to Rangers in his 20’s I think he would have been a massive success.

No chance we are signing six players at 5 million each if we sell them for that amount. Some of that money will go into the coffers to cover the costs of running the club.

Well even 6 players with an average of £4 Million leaves £8 Million left over.

An increase in wages shouldn’t be an issue as it won’t be only Tav & Morelos gone but also the likes of Kent, potentially Grezda, Barasic, Dorrans, Worrall, McAuley, Lafferty, Hardie, Coulibaly, Candeias & Hodson leaving (I would expect at least 6 of them lot to go). Plus the other duds on loan like Pena, Dodoo & Herrera will hopefully be fucking off.

The squad has far too many squad players that need trimmed and some of them will be on good money.

  3. I wouldn’t be selling them for any less than £12 Million for Tav and £20 Million for Morelos and with £30 odd Million to spend  like someone else has said I would expect us to try and get 6 quality players at £5m each (on average) then we shouldn’t have any issue challenging for the league if Mark Allen and crew are even slightly competent.

  4. He’s getting better and better the longer he is out.

Hes a decent player nothing more, yes he can contribute next season but he shouldn’t be a starter he was completely ineffective against decent sides he gained most of his goals and assists against the diddy teams.

If you were to ask this board at the end of last season if he should be a first choice Wide man you would have been laughed at people wanted rid of him.

Hes a better squad option than the likes of Candeias and Grezda but shouldn’t be a starter if we want to win trophies.

We were outstanding that night we absolutely battered what was a great Bayern team. Would have beat them at home as well if not for that fucking dodgy free kick at the death. Bastards.

It’s mental to see the quality we used to have, not a single one of our current players would get a start in that team, only Morelos, Tav and McGregor would make the bench.

Will never forget that. That was a deliberate act. He knew he would've turned him and then had an open goal but chose to do what we probably all would've done in his case. You don't become the best keeper in the world not having a win at all costs mentality. Mols was tearing Bayern a new one that night and Khan done the only thing he could do to stop a certain goal. I doubt he meant to ruin his career, but that doesn't mean that he should have gotten away with what he done. If that happened in this day and age, he would've gotten a heavy ban. Who knows what we could've achieved with that team if it wasn't for that bastard. I'm certain we would have beaten Bayern that night and gotten through that group.

    What could've been...

You are talking nonsense, the ball was there to be won and he did win the ball there was no intent whatsoever to injure Mols it was just one of those things that happens in football, Khan was entitled to go for it.

People seem to re write history regarding the challenge there are plenty of worse challenges every weekend up and down the country.

As far as I know he was, maybe it’s his decision to get out there and find first team football for next season. Can’t blame the lad for that and if he kicks on and proves himself always a shout of a return in the future.

Nice to also see the club just don’t say there’s the door cheerio, but actively help the lads.

Burt hasn’t been doing very well for a few years now, I know he was once the biggest prospect we had as a youngster but he’s had a few unsuccessful loan spells and bad injuries, he just doesn’t look anywhere near good enough for us. He was overtaken by many other younger and indeed better players than him.

People also go on about Serge Atakayi as well but the truth is he isn’t good enough for us either, there are far better prospects than him in the youth academy.

Best of luck to him hopefully he can make a decent career for himself in football but he’s just not good enough for us.

  8. To be honest I don’t think any of that age group (Middleton apart) are good enough for us including Kelly.

People keep going on about Atakayi but he’s never going to get near our first team, there is a reason he’s papped out on loan to Finland he doesn’t have nearly enough skill or technical ability to make it as a winger for Rangers and he isn’t exactly that young anymore if youth player hasn’t played at least a handful of games by the time they hit 20 years old they aren’t going to make it.

The u-18’s are a far better group of players (McPake & Mebude included) than the 20’s.

Naw cammy bell was always shite

Yes he was always shite but it’s a FACT she had some great games against us which is why half of this board were creaming themselves when we signed him.

The croatians have downed tools (or are just shite) and at 4-5 million spent no wonder they're getting it tight.

Part of me wondered why is Barisic no playing then tries like fuck to play for Croatia then is back injured.

We shouldn't have poached them from a team of randoms (Osijek) but thats probably where we were at, at the time. *panic buy*

Back to the generic tried and tested get Rangers fans playing for us, who have a clue

Aye cause every cunt we sign from Scotland is a great success with us 🙄 No matter what league you Scout from there are gonna be players that will succeed at Rangers and those that don’t. Fact is if we sign a team full of Rangers fans we ain’t winning shit.

Osijek aren’t even nearly the best team in Croatia so signing shit loads of there players might have been a bit naive. Barasic is an understandable signing, a stand out for them, great against us and a Croatia left Back but unfortunately it just hasn’t worked out yet he’s been massively injury prone and he doesn’t seem to be able to deal with the pressure very well maybe that’s the reason he failed the last time he got a big move (to Dinamo Zagreb).

Grezda we signed on the recommendation of Katic & Barasic so we didn’t really Scout the guy properly, plus he had just come back from a long term injury which for a winger is always risky, for the money we spent on him we needed someone to hit the ground running.

Katic has shown great potential and if given a chance will prove to be the best CB  in the country in my opinion.

Still saying we should have been looking at Goldson, Katic and Halkett as a back three next season with Tav and a (hopefully) fully fit Barisic pushing on down the flanks and Jack and McCrorie behind Murphy/Jones, Arfield and Defoe.

So basically you want to fight for 2nd/3rd place again.

    Scum probable team tomorrow:

    Bain: Dundee

    Lustig: Rosenberg

    Ajer: Start

    Boyata;  man city

    Tierney: Development

    Forrest: Development

    McGregor: Development

    Brown: Hivs

    Sinclair: Villa

    Burke: Loan

    Eduard: PSG

2 playera from a top tier club, plus loans, plus players from here. 1 of whom most of us want to see on their team sheet.

Yes we need to improve quality, yes it'll likely have to come from outside Scotland,  but let's not kid ourselves on that a league couldn't be won with a core of the best of the league here given what the scum have managed with their signings.

Lustig: Gash these days but was a decent signing for them, the guy was an experienced International fullback who had played regularly in Europe when they signed him.

    Boyata: a Belgium International

Brown: Stood out a mile in Scotland as a youth player far above the shite like Shinnie.

Sinclair: An experienced Premier League winger on incredibly high wages

Burke: An one time wonder kid with experience in the Bundesliga and has already been sold for £12 million odd.

Eduardo: A £9 Million signing from PSG

-Ajer, Tierney, McGregor & Forrest are all good youth development players. I’m not saying we shouldn’t bring through our own players not at all.

-Bain is gash exactly the sort of signing we shouldn’t be making he’s the same level as the likes of Graeme Shinnie and crew.

So let’s not make out the scum have built their squad on the cheap from SPFL sides because they haven’t.

Believe it or not, some very talented players come from Scottish clubs.  Andrew Robertson and Ryan Fraser started at Scottish clubs and went on to play in the EPL.  Whenever a young talent comes through domestically we should pick them up, develop them, then sell them on for at a profit.  This is a model used throughout Europe.

Kent has 5 league goals and is valued at £12m.  Hastie has 5 league goals, having played less than half the amount of league minutes, and is available for free.  Hastie has just turned 20 and could develop in to a better player than Kent within the next few years.  I can se why would be interested in the latter.

Also, I don't think Scottish clubs have a reluctance to do business with Rangers per se.  I think Scottish clubs have realised they can get more money by selling their players to teams down South and they're not wrong.  celtic tried to get McKenna and failed, and look at the situation with McGinn.

The players worth signing in Scotland stand out a mile the likes of Scott Brown, Kevin Thomson, Steven Naismith, Kris Boyd, John McGinn, Steven Fletcher, Ryan Fraser, Scott McKenna, Andrew Robertson etc... all stood out clearly above the rest but those players are few and far between and are a level above the quality of players we are targeting.

Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Michael O’Hallaron, Graeme Shinnie, Jordan Jones, Greg Stewart, Louis Moult (remember the people on here practically wanking at the thought of signing this bellend, the same guy who upon leaving Motherwell has scored 6 in 27 for Preston North End), Nadir Ciftci, Ian Black, David Templeton, Jason Cummings, Kevin Kyle, Jason Holt, Nicky Clark, Sandaza I could go on....

The players we are targeting (Shinnie, Jones, Stewart etc...) are in the same league as the players in that second list and it’s clear to see.

Yes it’s ok to have some players at that level but we already have a squad full of them already and we clearly need an improvement.

  14. Let’s be honest as I’ve said on here before sign SPFL shite become SPFL shite, if we sign a squad full of players like Jordan Jones, Greg Stewart, Ryan Jack, Graeme Shinnie, Michael O’Hallaron etc... then we are only ever gonna be competing with the likes of Aberdeen.

We we have enough players of a similar ability in our squad already and we are likely to lose some of the players we have that are above that level in the summer (Morelos & Kent).

So clearly all funds should be put towards signing a higher quality of player from the continent as clearly no one within Scotland can improve us (other than the likes of McKenna who we couldn’t afford due to Scottish clubs reluctance to sell to us)

The one thing Hastie has over those squad players mentioned above is that he is young and can improve into a Rangers quality of player but the likes of Jones and Shinnie aren’t gonna improve much.

  15. I don't think it's anything to do with the players not dealing with big game pressure as other posters have said they have won plenty of big games this season, it's mostly games against the diddy teams we drop points, it seems to be a consistency issue, the players just don't seem to be able to keep the same work ethic and motivation in every game, this doesn't mean they are purposely not putting in the effort but subconsciously.
