The optimism in the original post is really nice to see but I think it is way too early to be seriously linking any names to Rangers and some of those names in particular are sadly too big for the club in its current state. Sone Aluko and Alan Hutton are playing at a much higher level and making a ton more money than what they would at Rangers. Vladimir Weiss was rumored a while back to have been interested in returning to Rangers but I haven't heard anything in ages about this and don't see why he would want to in the clubs current state. Didn't Scott Allan turn Rangers down and chose Hibernian instead and isn't he on a 2-year contract there? Am I missing something here? Ciftci is an average striker at best. I saw him play at Tannadice a couple weeks ago and he was absolutely useless. I don't understand bringing in an average striker when we already have the likes of Daly, Miller and Boyd on the books. He won't do any better than them.

Attendace Prediction For Tuesday
TheDarkStRangers replied to MisterC's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I was at Ibrox yesterday for the Ibrox tour and originally thought that I had to pick up tickets for the tour at the ticket centre. It was around noon and there was a line outside the door for tickets for the game on Tuesday. Tuesday looks really promising and I'm guessing 32,000 roughly as it's midweek. If that kind of number comes out and gets behind the team then we will be back to a decent looking side at Ibrox again. I wouldn't expect it to be a sell-out given it's a Tuesday but the next home game on the weekend I can imagine seeing mid 40k people attending. -
Retire the Number 2 jersey?
TheDarkStRangers replied to Terry Hurlock Loyal's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I think it is a true sign of respect to somebody who brought so much to our club. It's done by many other sports teams but they do it too often. I would like to see the number retired - nobody else deserves to wear that number anymore. -
Get rid of some of our underperformers and bench warmers and that should make room for some of these supposed signings. Cribari, Hutton and Perry come to mind in particular. Cribari (is out of contract I believe) shouldn't be offered a new deal as we big Luca Gasporatto could do us a job there. Hutton has not been the star we all thought he could be a couple years ago and I have been very disappointed. I'm sure he would be a decent player just at a different club. Perry, I have never been impressed with.

the one Ranger you will never ever forgive? ?
TheDarkStRangers replied to Dennis's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Naismith. He was such a good player for us when he wasn't injured and he scored some great goals... I was so upset when I saw that press conference because I realized how commercialized the game really had become for a supposed Rangers fan to turn away from his team when they needed him the most. -
Yes please Yes please HECK YES!
-
Well I'm surprised but pleased if it does look like that. I never got my hands on any of the 2010 tops!
-
Heck yes as an away top, though it would have to be short sleeves. That's too familiar to 2010/2011 top. I do like it a lot and would obviously get it. I find it hard to imagine they'd have something so similar only a couple years apart. They've done a pretty good job mixing up the looks over the last couple of years. I just hope Puma gets the designs to look as good as these. I hope they manage to make a better quality top than this years shirts. I really liked the tops for this year but the quality is attrocious.

The top 101 youngsters in World Football
TheDarkStRangers replied to johanhentze's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I'm afraid he's going to get poached by some shite side in the Championship or lower-level Premiership team once we're back in the SPL. He's good enough to be playing at a higher level than what we can offer him. We can offer him the chance to become a legend at the club though and not just another bench-warmer down South. -
Are there any of these shirts still available for purchase? Can't find them on Rangers Megastore.
-
Think he was a brilliant signing, arguably the best piece of business Mr. McCoist did in the summer. He had a brilliant season with QOTS and deserved a chance to go to a big club like ours. He's scored a couple good goals and has always looks hungry and ready to work hard for the team. He's shown he's got Rangers quality and I won't be surprised to see him score double figures by the end of the season again.

David Templeton transfer request tomorrow
TheDarkStRangers replied to 1st_Jan_1994's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I don't understand why the likes of Templeton and McKay aren't getting playing time infront of Peralta. I'd be rather upset if I were them too if I wasn't getting playing time either. They were arguably two of our better players last term and they got replaced by some nobody who has done absolutely nothing so far in a Rangers jersey. -
I will support any player that pulls on a Rangers jersey and gives 110% for the club. That being said, I think Stevie Smith is a good backup LB option to Lee Wallace and despite his miss-kick yesterday (which was probably more to do with the state of the pitch than anything) I don't think he played badly at all. If he had more consistent game time I'm sure he'd be a very good player for us. Foster was absolutely disgraceful yesterday though and he was incredibly frustrating to watch. He hasn't come into the starting XI nearly as strongly as all the other new signings and if I was Ally McCoist I'd be looking at potential replacements. Perhaps Hegarty when he is 100% or bring McAusland or Mitchell back from their loan-spells early. I was very surprised McCoist signed these two players to begin with. I think McCoist needed defensive changes but both these players never really made considerable impacts while Rangers were in the old SPL. I'm sure he could have continued to play some of the youngsters for this division and they would have continued to have grown this season. The money used on their wages could have been used to give a slighltly better contract offer to players like Stuart Urquhart.

Anyone think we could push Wallace up to left-midfield and have Smith continue to play left-back? Think that'd be scary seeing Wallace running further into an attacking position....

If we were to draw Celtic in the Scottish Cup
TheDarkStRangers replied to nvager's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
We don't have the team to compete with them yet. As much as I'd love to see us play them at Ibrox and win I think it's unrealistic at this stage of our jourey to expect anything but a loss against them. They're playing top teams every week, have arguably the best side in Scotland and are still able to poach decent talent from teams across the world and compete against the best of the best in the champions league. We're still playing part-timers and though I think we could probably give them a decent run for their money at Ibrox it's better to avoid playing Celtic. We need to avoid the hype of a reunion of the old firm before we make it back to the Premiership. Next season I want to say "bring them on" but our team is too young and inexperienced to seriously contend against them yet. -
Nacho Novo has shown he loves Rangers FC. If he wants a return we should at least take a solid look at him and see if there is space for him in the line-up. I don't think there is any room for him right now as a player but I can definitely see him coming back here as a coach or an ambassador for the club.
