Even worse then if he didn’t mean it
He tried to get as good a contact before getting closed down. He came within inches of winning the game. I find it hard to criticise that.

I’d expect a shot on target from 20yards with clear sight of goal is all I’m saying
Trying some sort of outside the boot thing was garbage
He's not tried that on purpose

We haven't terminated the loan so there must be a chance we expect him back
He said back soon on his social media after the operation.

Just heard Michael Stewart on BBC comms at the Silva penalty, he utters the words "Alistair Johnson wins the ball" about 8 times... what planet is this guy on? Silva rinsed him, "winning the ball" means you either gain possession or perhaps you clear it from the forward. If not for the foul then Silva is past him. You don't get to impede a forward's progress by kicking him in the knee just because the ball touched your shoelace. No wonder Michael Stewart's career was such a failure.
I'd he doesn't understand that he's not qualified to commentate on football.

I agree it was a foul but Beaton never gave it for whatever reason.
That's the point of var though. He really should have seen it. When it happened the boy next to me said I hope we don't score here because it won't count. We still celebrated like fuck right enough and again when we thought he pointed to the centre circle.

That’s pretty shit though as most teams will obviously try break up the park quickly in that event.
It was a foul though.

The "foul" at the start of the passage of play wasn't even given by Beaton who was two yards away, so he didn't consider it a foul. Fuck knows why VAR gets a say in that.
The same argument applies to our penalty.

So is that not a new phase when Taylor blocks the sima shot/cross? Did they not have the chance to reset then considering 2 of their players iirc tried to clear the ball at different times?
No. As mentioned earlier blocks aren't considered a new phase of play.

8 beggars back in the box after Silva ran from inside our own half.
How ‘reset’ do you want it?
There was probably 10 to 15s from the tackle to the ball hitting the net. I'd be livid if that was considered a foul but not brought back because the defence was judged to have reset.

Tbh I just accepted the foul and didn’t take much notice. But the screenshot I posted from a Rangers FB page has me asking what is the rules on phases and how far can they go back and make a decision on VAR? I am genuinely not sure.
It's when the defence has had a chance to reset which wasn't the case yesterday.

Tav fucked up 3 times for that 1st goal.
Firstly, by not reacting quickly enough when the initial ball was played. What was he thinking about, waving his arms around?
Secondly, when he finally reacts he's still got plenty of time to get to the ball first, but as he approaches the ball he slows down to have a wee look over the shoulder. This slowing down allow Maede to get right on top of him.
Thirdly, the panicking attempted clearing when he realises Maeda is right beside him. He had other options.
You'd expected him to be hyped up with the adrenaline pumping at the start of the game but it seemed as if his mind was elsewhere?
I'm not even reading that

But why did he take about 8 years to do anything, realise he's in trouble then boot it off him when he had the goalie to pass to, that's not a freak it's incredibly bad play
It's both

How was it a freak
He kicked the ball off maeda 20 yards out and it went in. It was dreadful defending but the very definition of a freak goal.

Fair point on selling while profile high but one of the worst?? Really, has he even started 10 games?
He's played 31 times starting 19 of them. We've seen plenty.

24 touches and an 86% pass completion rate. Just thought I'd clear that up. @King Jela missed all 24 apparently.

Aye, that was the unforgettable assist.
@Roy Hobbs having a shocker clearly.
You asked if a guy who played over 100 minutes touched the ball and I'm having a shocker?

It's very hazy, it was a mental game where 3 goals happened in the last 10-15. Not that hard to see why it'd be difficult remembering his only meaningful touch of the game.
I'll ask again, who's goal did he assist?
Sima. He also had a goal chopped off and came close at the end.

My memory is very hazy immediately after. Who's goal did he assist?
It must be really hazy if you genuinely need to ask if he touched the ball.
