Sorry mate but that’s nonsense.
Any distortion caused by distance should apply to both the penalty box line and the VAR line.
That is not the case here.
Once again, the use of VAR in Scotland is dubious at best. Absolutely no surprise.
All 3 lines run at an angle. There's no parallel perspective on any of them. There's about a 20 degree difference between the 18 yard line and 6 yard line. It's really not difficult to understand that every line along that axis will not be parallel.

History and present is showing these cunts would do anything.
History? We've had our fair share of VAR decisions go for us this season, some of which have been game changing. There was nothing to benefit from doctoring that.

I didn't know that but I assume there is still an element of human interaction before the decision is made or it's referred back to the ref?
The only human input is on the frame that's used and setting the reference points of the attacker and defender. It then draws the lines and if it's green it's onside and red if it's not.

Yes the dont touch 18 yard line nearest but do furthest. Wrong Doctored to suit.
You think they'd go to the effort to doctor images in a game we were winning 3 0?

I honestly think they should look into having AI draw the lines and make the decision. Take it out of human hands.
That's exactly what happens. It's fully calibrated. The var operator just sets the point at which the attacker and defender are furthest forward. The software draws the lines from that.
The next generation of VAR AI also tracks the players.

That won’t stop them being parallel.
The lines are effectively touching on the far side whereas there is a clear margin on the near side.
The lines are not parallel.
Not in the slightest surprised especially after the ridiculous reluctance to book professional fouls against our players.
They don't manually draw the lines, the system does. They will never be parallel unless they are on top of each other.

Yeah because as soon as you come back you are fit as a fiddle and ready to play your best football for 90 minutes......
He'll have more than enough games to have an impact in particularly if it's 2 months.

By the time he gets upto speed the season will be all but over if its 3 months. From the sounds of it he is staying anyway.
So worst case he could be back for the last 5 games in the league and whatever cup games and you want to send him back? Best case you could add another 4 league games onto that.

I might be wrong, but he was second choice for that position. I’m sure they were close to signing some midfielder who had a change of heart and went to boro or something like that instead I’m sure.

Huge blow if he's out for a significant period. 14 league goals is a great return at this point
I don't think it's as many as that in the league but he'll be a huge loss.

Aye but mate, Ally McCoist was 18.
Dessers is 29.
McCoist was nearly 21 when he signed and cost us what would have been a fair amount of money for the time. He had it 100 senior games under his belt as well.
I doubt Dessers would get cut any more slack had he been at a similar stage of his career.

I would be amazed if we managed to insert a clause allowing us to void a contact if we fired him within a year.
He maybe a dog shit manager but he's not stupid and doubt his representatives are either, if anything, an early termination would be the opposite.
I would be as well but he was desperate to manage us.

You're correct we don't know the full ins and outs of the contract, but can assume that we won't operate differently to other clubs, coupled with the length of contract he has been giving at Sunderland that coincides with the remainder of his contract at us, we can at least connect some dots.
Every contract will be different even at the same club. There will be individual clauses written into them that will influence potential severance packages even within the same contract. Somebody on here alluded to him getting nothing as he was sacked within the first year.

Think he is getting at it has been a massive stroke of luck that Sunderland picked him up so quickly.
Typically managers keep getting paid by the club (so they don’t have to make a massive lump sum payment) until they find a new club and then the contract can pretty much be mutually terminated.
Him getting to Sunderland so quickly probably means we only had to pay him another 2 months wages…
Nobody knows what the terms were. He may have got a significant lump sum, he may have got nothing.
-
Just now, Hamie said:
Because he's off the wage bill without us paying him every month for the remainder of his contract.
You've no idea what the terms of his dismissal were.
-
17 minutes ago, Hamie said:
Not sure what you mean, I take it you understand how a contract works?
You don't just get to tear up the contract by sacking someone.
So what is remarkable about our sacking Beale? It happens constantly.

It's truly remarkable we managed to shift this clown from our wage bill.
Shame for Sunderland but a massive win for us.
Why is it remarkable? We didn't sell him he was sacked.

Ever think he reason why there isn't more assists in the team is because the player they are trying to get assists through is him?
Assist table would look far better with a more competent striker up top.
No

is that what it’s come to now? How many players have more assists than Dessers? Just shows up the absolute guff in our squad that this guy sits 3rd or 4th in the assist trophy rankings.
We're in the last 16 of the Europa, won the league cup and still well in the title race. He's contributed significantly to that.
He's second in assists and they are all from open play, but he doesn't create any chances apparently.

Well it is true though. 6 assists over what, about 25 games?
His goal against Betis is a good example, the whole support were actually laughing at the fact he scored it, that’s how bad he’s been all season.
Are we counting a £4.5m striker clean through on goal in the biggest game of the season and missing as some sort of marker now?
If we win the league this season, it won’t be because of Dessers, that’s for sure
How many players in the team have more assists than him?
If we win the league it will absolutely be in part due to him.

I get what he means though. McGregor was an unbelievable shot stopper but terrible at crosses or with his feet. Butland is an excellent all round keeper.
